First Day Polka Dots

I survived my first day back with students! My schedule yesterday wasn’t bad so it was a nice way to ease into the school year. Today, on the other hand, is going to be a long day so cross your fingers for me that it’ll go quick!

For the first day of school yesterday, I wore a polka dot, pleated midi/maxi skirt paired with a solid color sleeveless top with a gathered neckline. Why do I say “midi/maxi”? Well, it’s technically supposed to be a midi, but as I’ve said many times before – I’m short! So this midi leans more towards maxi skirt on me. It’s between calf and ankle length. I mean, I guess it could be more midi length if I wore it up higher, but I’m also blessed with a short torso. I have long legs and I always say if my torso were more proportionate I would be much taller!

The inner layer of the skirt hits above the knee and the sheer, polka dotted, pleated outer layer hits at the shin area. The skirt was really comfortable and has an elastic waist – my fav. I brought a white short sleeve cardigan with me, which was great because half of my building was a little chilly while the other half was really stuffy and hot.

My shoes got cut off in the pictures, but I’m wearing black wedge sandals from DSW. I figure I should get the most out of open toed shoes while I can!
