Photo Challenge: Vibrant
I really loved the theme for this past week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post – “Vibrant”. Sadly, I didn’t see anything very vibrant this week or at least nothing vibrant enough to catch my eye. So I went through my old pictures to look at what I had and wanted to use. I came across this picture from when I went to Turkey a few years ago. I saw these beautiful lamps all over the place and this particular picture was taken outside a shop at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.
The colorful lamps came in all different sizes and slightly different shapes. The shop and many shops like it are filled to the brim with these gorgeous glass lamps providing a vibrant mosaic of color. I really wanted to buy one, but I had no idea how I would carry it home on the plane with me. I’m sure there was a way it could’ve been packed since tourists probably buy them all the time, but I decided I didn’t want to deal with the hassle. If I ever went back I’d maybe get one, but they’re all so pretty I have no idea how I would ever pick one!

I have friends who buy a container similar to Rubbermaid and check it with their luggage in order to bring things back. The lamps are indeed beautiful. I encounter the same problem and have to leave room in my largest suitcase. I’ve always wanted to go to Istanbul. An amazing city!

That’s a good idea, but checking extra luggage or luggage in general can be so expensive these days!

I know. I usually take my biggest suitcase and leave room. And try not to buy large items. It’s hard to pass some things up. There’s no easy solution. 😉
