French Toast with Italian Bread

It’s an international affair for my food post today. Okay, not really – it’s just French Toast, but while the quick french toast breakfast I had as a kid usually consisted of regular white bread from the likes of Wonder Bread or Pepperidge Farm, I used a loaf of italian bread for this breakfast. I’m still all for the regular white bread, but I wanted to be a little fancier this time around.

I wanted nice, thick slices of french toast so that’s how I sliced up the loaf. Then, I made your standard french toast dipping mixture consisting of eggs, milk, sugar, and cinnamon.

Cook until both sides (after flipping) are slightly browned. I know some people like to eat their french toast with syrup, but I prefer powdered sugar. And to pretty up the plate and create a more filling breakfast I made some bacon and washed some blackberries and raspberries.

I hope you’re having a delicious breakfast this weekend!
