Tiny Cutouts + Tweed

And just like that it’s Monday again. I hope you all had a good weekend! We may be in mid-October now and lately the temperatures have felt a bit more like fall but this week it’s going to feel like summer again with temperatures reaching 80 the next few days! I was feeling so out of it yesterday and I have a feeling these crazy temperature differences are going to make a lot of people sick.

Seeing as how it’s a warm day it seems appropriate to share this work look from last month when it was also a warm day (though in September it seems more normal!). I wore this white short sleeve top that has tiny cutouts throughout the top, a pink/purple tank top underneath, slim tweed pants, and a light purple gem stone necklace. I love these pants. I got them either one or two years ago and they are so versatile and comfortable because they have a bit of stretch to them.

I love the way this look came together. On their own all these pieces can be quite simple but put together it created a really streamlined, clean, yet stylish look. I decided I wanted that purple pink tank top underneath for a bright pop of color that was still a gentle color and nothing too bold. The light purple gem stone necklace with yellow gold details was a great accessory and helped break up the look of the all-over cutout design of the short-sleeve top. It was a birthday gift from my friend Amy (hi Amy, if you’re reading this!).

I love this top (enough to also have it in black) that I bought a few years ago from LOFT. The one thing I don’t like about it is the elastic hem. I feel like it’s completely unnecessary and without it, the top would lay so much nicer because it would lay flat instead of creating a slight bubble. I wore another top recently that I had the same issue with and I’ll be sharing that look in an upcoming post.

Aside from the bubble effect of the elastic hem on the top, I think this look is very slimming and the perfect business casual look for work or dressy casual look for an outing.
