Photo Challenge: New Horizon

The winter cold has officially hit! We’ve had a few cold days here and there but yesterday was freezing and today is looking to be the same with some snow late tonight. It’s the kind of cold that is painful to be in if you have to stand outside for more than a few minutes. But, I’m not complaining too much because in approximately 7 hours from when this post goes live I’ll be officially on winter break! Yes, today is my last day of work for 2016 and I cannot wait for this much needed break. With that being said, it’s only fitting that this past week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post was “New Horizon“.

New horizons make one think of new beginnings, the start of something new, and/or looking ahead. Well, this photo can represent a few ideas for this prompt.

For starters, as mentioned above, I’ve got winter break to look forward to in just a few hours. I can’t wait to have some leisurely, cozy days at home and this photo definitely gives me cozy vibes. Second, Christmas is fast approaching so that is definitely on the horizon. Lastly, and most obviously related to this photo – I have presents to wrap! I’ve been so busy with work that I haven’t had time to wrap everything so that is one of the first things I need to get done and look forward to (I’m one of those people who enjoy wrapping gifts). As I spend some time wrapping gifts this weekend I’m going to try to record a new DIY video dealing with wrapping. If all goes well I’ll post that video in a few days!

What is on your horizon?
