Floral Maxi Romper

I think I’ve mentioned it on here, but if you’ve caught my Instagram Stories, then you may know a few weeks ago I did my first professional photoshoot for the blog. Normally my photos are taken by family, friends, and/or my camera on a tripod, so this is something I wanted to treat myself to! Call it an early birthday gift to myself. I reached out to an old friend I worked with at a summer camp one summer ages ago who is now a professional photographer – Jaye Kogut Photography . We set a date and talked about what kind of shoot I was going for and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! We shot at The Craig House in Freehold, NJ about 45 minutes from me. My cousins were in town visiting so I brought my 14 year old cousin with me and she was my assistant in helping me with my outfit changes in the car plus keeping me company on the road!

It was very hot that evening and so so humid. I was literally sweating within minutes of the shoot but luckily you can’t tell in the photos (I don’t think).

So today I’m sharing with you the first look we shot and my favorite of the 3 – this floral maxi romper! You’ve probably seen this style this summer as I’ve seen the style make the rounds on Instagram a bit this summer but actually not as much as I thought I would! I love how flowy it is but that it’s still shorts – ya know for practicality – although I don’t know how practical you can get with the maxi portion flowing behind you.

Maxi Romper: American Eagle | Sandals: Steve Madden via DSW

How gorgeous are these photos?! I’m obsessed. This romper maxi has an open back and I decided to wear a pretty, light pink lace racer back bra because the dress is light colored so I didn’t want to go sans bra. I brought two pairs of shoes for this outfit and decided to go with my flat, clear bedazzled sandals instead of wedges. I think it kept the look more boho, casual. Plus, they were much easier to walk around in on the grass and gravel!

I love this floral print as it’s got such a light and airy feel to it. Definitely lends itself well to the flowy, bohemian vibe.

I hope you enjoyed this outfit and these photos as much as I did. It was hard to narrow it down to just 12 for this post. I’ve got 2 other outfits from this photoshoot to share with you all in the coming weeks – have to spread them out a bit! And I’m excited to share that Jaye and I will be working together again in the fall for a shoot!
