Christmas Bow Brooch

I don’t remember why, but for some reason I was looking at bows on Etsy. Random, I know, but I really can’t remember why I was looking! Anyway, I came across this bow ribbon with a large beaded heart and it had the perfect Christmas colors – red and green. I thought it would be a perfect accessory for the holidays. Whether pinned to your button down as a sort of tie, on to a sweater as a brooch, or on to your tote bag as a little fun Christmas detail – I thought it would be so fun to work with.

During my holiday photoshoot with Lauren, I decided to use the bow in a look. Originally I was going to pin it like a tie on my lace button down, but I ultimately decided to wear it on a black blazer instead. I wore a dark green lace top, black blazer, and black jeggings.

I contemplated for a long time what color top to wear with the blazer. I thought a Christmas graphic tee would be too distracting so I wanted to stick with a solid color. I didn’t want to do white because that would look too waiter-y. I thought this dark green would look nice for the holidays and the lace gives it a nice texture. I also wanted to stick with a solid color because I wanted the bow to be the center of attention.

I love the way the outfit turned out!  Of the 3 holiday looks we shot this is definitely the most sleek and dressy. The next one I’ll be sharing is a restyling and trust me, the photos turned out gorgeous of my restyled item! The last one I’ll be sharing probably shortly after Christmas as it’s holiday-ish but really can translate in to a cozy winter style when it’s not the holiday season. But anyway, I hope you like this bow and outfit as much as I do!
