December 2018 Favorites + Looking Back on 2018

Can you believe it’s the very last day of 2018?! I honestly can’t. This year went by in the blink of an eye and I need time to slow down. I thought about doing a 2018 recap and include some of my favorite posts from the year, but that would be very time consuming to go through the entire year to pick out my top posts. I used to do that but it would just take forever and I always felt like I wasn’t doing my recap justice nor paying proper homage to these favorite posts and moments. So I’ve decided not to do that this year, but I will say 2018 was a year of ups and downs for me – as most years are. Everyone has highs and lows each year, but I think I felt mine were more prominent or more extreme I should say. A few highs were seeing Taylor Swift in concert, in the rain, and having the time of my life (definitely checking out the Netflix special!), and buying a townhouse. Oh and traveling to Japan and Hong Kong!

There have also been some lows which I won’t get in to, but there have been some really hard days. It’s been an emotional year for me. Not in the sense that specific things happened that were emotional, but in the sense that it’s been a trying year at times and it has made me more emotional or made me feel more mentally and emotionally distressed. Real life, ya know? But I want to end this year on a positive note so let’s talk about some things I loved in December!

First – 2 Christmas related things. My Christmas llama pajamas that I got this year from Target are so soft and cozy. I think the llamas are so cute! Christmas llamas are everywhere this year. My friend sent me a Christmas photo of her and her husband in Christmas llama sweaters, I have these pajamas, my Christmas cards and Christmas sweater featured a Christmas llama, and my other friend gave me my gift in llama wrapping paper. The other Christmas related favorite is this wrapping paper I got from Costco. I love foiled wrapping paper and this Christmas postage wrapping paper has gold foil details and I love the vintage look of it.

A food I loved this month, besides Christmas cookies, is the cheese bialy from Wegman’s. It’s so good especially after being warmed up in the oven. I haven’t seen it in the bakery section the past few times I’ve gone to the store unfortunately, but it was definitely one of my favorite things in December.

You guys know I live for comfort and I’m one of those people that immediately changes in to comfy clothes when I get home. I love bralettes and these waffle knit bralettes from Abercrombie & Fitch are so comfortable! I bought the white one first and loved it so much that I bought this green one too. It’s like the perfect cross between a bralette and a sports bra.

A few weeks ago I posted about my first foray in to press-on nails since middle school. I loved this design!

If you’re a long time follower on here then you know one of my favorite TV shows is Timeless. Right before Christmas they aired a 2 hour movie that served as the series finale. I’m trying to stay hopeful that the show isn’t over and that it will get resurrected somewhere, but if this is it then I’m happy with the ending. I also just bought seasons 1 & 2 from Amazon and can’t wait to binge watch. I’m hoping the 2 hour finale will be available eventually too. This time traveling show is so fun and mysterious and has history and adventure and romance. All the things! It was canceled after season 1 and after a lot of public outcry, got renewed a day later. Then was canceled again after season 2 and then people petitioned and got helicopters to fly banners and got Times Square billboards etc. and it got a series finale movie. So who knows what could happen!

Do you love John Krasinski and Emily Blunt? I do! They did a really fun joint interview and I really loved it. Do yourself a favor and read the interview, watch the video. It’s impossible not to love them.

My last favorite for December is the Google commercial with Macaulay Culkin doing an updated Home Alone.

Home Alone is one of my favorite Christmas movies and I love this updated version!

That concludes my last monthly favorites for 2018. Let’s see what I’ll be loving in 2019!

Have a safe New Year’s Eve!
