    Downton Abbey Fashion

Today’s the first Sunday since Downton Abbey‘s series finale in the US. There will never be a new episode of Downton Abbey on a Sunday night or ever again! So after my recap earlier in the week, I thought it was about time I wrote my post dedicated to the fashion of the beloved show. The fashion of the series has been talked about and well loved for basically the entire run of the show. As a period piece, you already know going in that the fashion is going to be of the time. Because the show centers around an aristocratic family the wardrobe of the characters is going to be enviable if you’re…

Downton Abbey – Series Finale Recap

Last night was the series finale of Downton Abbey here in the US (I know it aired in the UK a while ago). A new episode of the show will never be produced again much to my and loads of others’ dismay! I’ll miss watching my favorite British aristocratic family and their servants on my screen every week. Since I really enjoyed writing my realtime comments to Grease: Live last month, I wanted to do it again while I watched the Downton Abbey finale. If you haven’t watched it yet, then fair warning there’ll be spoilers. Let’s get to it! Looks like Lady Mary and Lady Edith’s icy relationship has officially thawed…

    Fuller House – My take

Unless you’ve been living under a rock and/or avoiding all social media (in which case you probably wouldn’t find yourself here, thanks for stopping by!) you will have heard that last Friday Netflix released Season 1 of Fuller House. The new show that picks up with the Full House kids 20 or so years later has been much anticipated for months. Of course, I’ve watched the 13-episode season so I’m here to give you all my thoughts on the show. I’ve got a lot to cover so settle in and let’s get started! As I watched the episodes and read some feedback online from Facebook friends and just from the general public, I jotted…

    “Agent Carter” Fashion

Last night was the season finale (possibly series finale?) of Marvel’s Agent Carter and while I’m still a few episodes behind, I wanted to write up a post about the fabulous fashion on the show. If you don’t know about the show, it revolves around Peggy Carter who you may have seen in various Marvel movies most notably Captain America. The show takes places post World War II in the 1940s and I love all the clothes! Well the women’s fashion anyway, I’m not that into the men’s fashion of the time period on the show but we’ll get into that later. Color blocking and empire waists are a prominent style on the…

    Blair Waldorf Quotes

How is it only Tuesday? I’m feeling overworked and burnt out. On a day like today where I’m feeling like I can’t catch a break I look for something to brighten my day. Today, I decided to give myself a healthy dose of Blair Waldorf. I’ve mentioned it on here a few times before – I love Blair Waldorf. She is my favorite character from “Gossip Girl”.  Some reasons I love her are (but not limited to): her fashion, her intelligence, her drive. I also think her and Chuck Bass are my top OTP. Seriously, I love them. I might have to do a future post with my favorite moments of…

    February 2016 Favorites

February 2016 Favorites by lifeaccordingtojamie featuring beautyblender It’s that time again – time for monthly favorites! February flew by quicker than January even with the leap day. I have just a few favorites this month so let’s get to it. The Beauty Blender has been my go-to beauty product/tool this winter. I wrote in early February about how it has been a essential to my routine this winter in dealing with my dry skin. Nonni’s THINaddictives are just that – addictive! I got these crackers at Costco and the box comes with packages of 3 crackers per wrapping. Delicious and healthy! I’ve been eating the Cranberry Almond ones. The…

    The Revenant

Tonight is the biggest night in film – The Oscars! “The Revenant” is up for Best Picture and is one of the three Best Picture nominees that I’ve seen. I also saw “The Martian” and “Bridge of Spies”, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I saw “The Revenant” last month, but didn’t have a chance to write a review on it so I thought today was as good a day as any to share my thoughts on the film! First off, the acting in this movie is absolutely incredible. This movie is intense and I can’t imagine filming in the conditions these actors were in. For those of you who don’t know…

    Mercy Street Season Finale

Tomorrow night is the season finale for “Mercy Street” and I’ve really been enjoying this first season of the show so I thought I’d write up a post today with a little list of why I like it. If you don’t know what “Mercy Street”is it’s a new show on PBS which takes place during the Civil War. The show centers around a former hotel in Union-occupied Alexandria that is now being used as a military hospital. The characters range from Union doctors and nurses, to Union and Confederate soldiers, free black men and women, and more. There are a few reasons why I’ve taken a liking to this new…

    Grammy Red Carpet Picks 2016

Last night was the buzzed about Grammy Awards and of course I had to share my favorite looks from the red carpet. Before I begin, there’s something/a question I have on my mind. At the Grammy’s, I’ve noticed that a lot of stars change outfits and I’m not talking about changing for their performance and then back again into their red carpet outfit – I’m talking about wearing a completely different outfit once they’ve entered. Taylor Swift changed but she was the opening performance so I can understand that, but I also noticed that Selena Gomez changed within minutes of getting off the red carpet and I don’t understand why,…

    January 2016 Favorites

January 2016 Favorites by lifeaccordingtojamie featuring a blue bandana It’s hard to believe that the first month of 2016 has already gone by. I keep seeing things on Instagram about how January is just a warm up to the year and you can really get started after January, which I hope is true because I feel like I totally wasted the month! I have just a handful of favorites from January in the collage above, but a few videos which I’ll detail down below. First up, I got my fair share of Halls Vitamin C Drops in January while suffering from a bad cold for 2 weeks! I love Blanket Scarves and…
