    Purple & Pink Floral Combo

Happy Wednesday! I can’t tell if this week is going by fast or slow, but I do know that the combination of pink, purple, and floral makes me happy. I’m really liking pink and purple together and I think they can easily be fall colors and aren’t just reserved for spring. Top: Loft Pants: Express Shoes: Aldo via DSW Watch: Michael Kors I paired the blouse with chocolate brown pants from Loft and taupe wedges that are so comfy. This week in my makeup basket…. Swedish Pancakes

Everytime I go to IHOP, which is only maybe once or twice a year, I get the Swedish Crepes (with a side of bacon of course). I love them and I never order anything else. I think it’s one of those situations where if I did order something else just to try to switch it up, I’d immediately regret not getting the Swedish Crepes because who knows when I’d go back next. What makes Swedish Crepes different than regular crepes, I’m not sure, but anyway, I decided to try to find a recipe to make them myself. While searching on the Internet, I found Swedish Pancake recipes and the pictures look…

    Floral Keyhole Top

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you’ll know floral is my favorite pattern. Some people might think florals are only to be worn in the spring and summer months, but I think you can wear them whenever! Anyway, this past Friday was another “dress down” day at work and here’s what I wore.   Top: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohls Jeans: Gap Booties:  Audrey Brooke via DSW Cardigan: Croft & Barrow via Kohls Watch: Kate Spade   The top has two keyholes which I think is something different than the norm and makes the shirt different. It’s amazing how little details like the placement of keyholes on a blouse…

    Ulta & Harmon Haul

A while back Ulta sent me a $10 birthday gift and surprisingly it wasn’t going to expire until 9/30 even though my birthday was in mid-August. Of course, I had to put it to use, but this haul is a tame one compared to my usual binge shopping. L’Oreal Collection Privee The Perfect Nudes (JLo’s Nude) L’Oreal Eye Defense Benefit Rockateur Blush Ulta Color Coat Cream Eye (Rose Gold) Revlon Gel Envy (High Stakes) I’ve been wanting to try this blush for a while now and finally picked it up. I got the eye cream because I wanted to try a drug store eye cream. I used up my Clinique one…

    Button Downs: Yea or Nay?

I’ve never been a huge fan of button-downs. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate them and I like them on other people, but I personally don’t wear them often because I don’t usually feel super comfortable in them. I think it’s because they’re usually so fitted and stiff feeling. I feel like I end up spending most of the day just constantly pulling it down/stretching it down. Of course, I still own a few just because they’re the kind of clothing items that always seem like a good idea to buy for work. Anyway, when I do come across a button-down that I feel comfortable in it makes me pretty…

    Photo Challenge: Nighttime

How exciting is it when a nighttime picture actually turns out good on your phone or camera? Sometimes you want to capture something at night and it just will not come out right leading to a lot of frustration.  Then other times the picture comes out so awesome that you want to jump for joy! So last Friday, The Daily Post, posted a nighttime photo challenge. I didn’t get a chance to get a nighttime picture this week. I wanted to try to get one last weekend because I was in upstate New York for the day and thought I could get a great nighttime bridge picture on the way home,…

    Color Block Top

Color Block pieces are so on trend right now and I’m all for it. It’s such an easy look and with just the most basic of color block items, you can look so put together. I feel like it’s one of those looks you can put very little effort in, but still comes off looking so stylish.   Top: Express Pants: New York & Company Shoes: Abella Randy Wedge Sandal via DSW Watch:  Fossil I decided to go with grey pants instead of black just to soften the look a bit. What are your thoughts on color blocking?

    Grey Tank Dress

Monday was picture day at school and the warm weather is still gracing us with its presence at the start of this autumn. I decided to wear this light and dark grey tank dress because it is so sleek and clean-cut looking, yet is still so practical to wear all day long at work. Plus, it was a busier day for me than usual since I was running picture day so I needed to be comfortable! It has a drawstring waist, which is always a favorite of mine and has pockets! I love dresses with pockets! Dress: Lou & Grey via Loft Cardigan: Croft & Barrow via Kohls Shoes: Chinese Laundry via DSW Necklace: Delicate Bar…

    Parisian Designer Contest

Parisian Designer Contest by lifeaccordingtojamie featuring vintage wall art Last week Polyvore had a Parisian Designer Contest where you had to come up with a set to pay homage to a french designer of your choice. I chose Chanel, just because Coco Chanel and the brand in general is so iconic of french couture. Instead of putting together images of live photos and models wearing Chanel creations, I decided to go with sketches. I absolutely love looking at fashion sketches because you really get the feel for the designer’s vision. I think there is something so special about sketches. Fun fact – when I was little and thinking of what…

    Orange Maxi Dress

Orange is always associated with fall, but this weekend felt like summer so it worked out perfectly to pair the orange color and the maxi dress. The dress is so comfortable and was great for getting some things done today and then do some Sunday relaxing/lounging. Although, the majority of my “relaxing/lounging” on the couch consisted of me on my laptop getting lesson plans done. Butttt it was still comfy to wear!
