    Photo Challenge: Ephemeral

I’m officially on spring break! It was much needed and hopefully it isn’t ephemeral (see what I did there?!). So obviously, the latest photo challenge from The Daily Post is “Ephemeral”, which means lasting for a very short time. Some of the most beautiful photographs are ones that capture something that happens so quickly that you think you or the photographer was so lucky to catch that at just the right moment. This is another one of those photo challenges where it’s really helpful if you already have a photo in your archives because it’s not something you can really look for or force. I thought about pictures I’ve taken…

    Elastic Heart

A few days ago when I posted my March Favorites I said the song “Goodbye” by Who is Fancy? was my favorite song of the month, but that another song swooped in at the end of the month and nearly stole the spot. The song is Sia’s “Elastic Heart” and I decided to create its own post for multiple reasons. I love the song — I think it’s so catchy and I love the lyrics. Whatever you’ve been through whether it’s a heartbreak, tough time with friends, family, or work, sometimes  oftentimes we’re tested. I’ve had plenty of setbacks throughout my life and of course what I see as a setback might…

    Easter Eggs

I haven’t dyed Easter eggs in years, but I felt like doing it this year so that’s just what I did this past weekend. I’m not very artistic, though I wish I was, so I didn’t make pretty eggs with really cool and/or intricate designs (maybe one day!). All I did was dye them. I used this shrink wrap type thing on one of the eggs. I had 2 more to use, but they wouldn’t fit around the eggs! The one that did work, slipped onto the egg and then I used a blow dryer and the wrapping melted/stuck onto the egg shell. The little dye kit I got also came…

Pops of Color – Infinity Scarf

If you’ve read any blog posts about blogging tips, a majority of bloggers will say to carry a notebook or planner with you so you can keep track of posts and jot down any ideas that come to mind at any given time. I love the idea of having a little notebook to record these things down in, but I’m terrible at keeping notebooks and planners so I never do. I always start off a year with one and then after a month or two it just goes to the wayside. I do have a tentative blog post schedule and a running list of ideas to post about which I’ve…

    March Favorites

March Favorites by lifeaccordingtojamie featuring Christian Dior I can’t believe it’s the end of March already. Seriously, where does the time go? Here’s what I was loving this past month (links to items are provided below)!  ***** MAC Cremesheen Glass in the shade Floating Lotus – If you have been following me/my blog for a while you know that I’m a neutral, pinky nude lip color lover. I love MAC lipglosses because they look so beautiful, are moisturizing, and aren’t too sticky. Floating Lotus is a beautiful soft rose color. Dior Creme de Rose  Speaking of lip products, winter is especially harsh on the lips. I usually use EOS lip balms during the…

    Cape Coat

Back in the fall/early winter, cape coats were all the rage and I absolutely loved the look and needed one. I got one for Christmas (yay!) but it was far too cold to actually get to wear it out (no yay). I wore it out to dinner this past weekend finally!     The cape coat is from the Scandal Collection at The Limited. It was quite chilly the evening I wore this coat, but I was determined to wear it anyway. Truth be told, it’s not that the coat is not warm (it is wool after all), but since there aren’t full sleeves when the weather is cold it’s not really warm…

    Winter Just Wasn’t My Season

Anybody remember that song? I was listening to an old playlist and that Anna Nalick song, “Breathe” came on. Winter wasn’t horrible, but it felt really long and dragged out. Every time it looked like the bitter cold and snow was finally gone, it would be right back. With a winter filled with seemingly never-ending work, silly drama, and further confirmation that my love life is cursed (allow me to be melodramatic for a minute), I’m ready to say goodbye to winter and bring on a change of season! Originally, this post was just going to be an OOTD post, but at the last minute I thought it would be…

    Faux Leather Trim Leggings

Leather trimmed clothing items have been making their rounds for a while now. I recently shared this sweater dress with leather accents. Today, I’m sharing leggings with leather trim. I love these leggings for multiple reasons. 1) They fit perfectly. 2) They are so comfortable. 3) They’re not the least bit sheer. You know how some leggings if they get stretched or if you’re looking closely, you can see some of your skin? These leggings are ponte knit so they are thicker. 4) The leather trim of course! What a fun way to change up the regular leggings we’re used to seeing. It definitely dresses up the look and even…

    Mongolian Beef

I love looking for copy cat recipes of things I enjoy eating out. I don’t go to PF Chang’s often at all – I think I’ve gone maybe 4 or 5 times ever in my life. But the few times I have gone, I’ve gotten the Mongolian Beef and always really enjoy it. I found this copycat recipe at Blissfully Delicious via Pinterest. I pretty much followed that recipe except I didn’t use as much beef as called for. The only pictures I didn’t include were when I coated the raw flank steak in cornstarch and when I refried the beef in the sauce in the wok cause I had to…

    Spring Brights

As the weather bounces around all over the place, I am forcing spring to come by wearing some more bright colors. I wore this sleeveless bright green top with a white cardigan. The green, which is already bright, really pops against the white. Top: Talbots Caridgan: Chadwicks Pants: New York & Company Necklace: Bauble Bar So I know you can’t really see my pants, but I’ve had them for years and I still love them. They’re so comfortable. They’re a little long (and I never got them altered when I first bought them years ago and I guess I figure what’s the point now!) so I always wear higher heels when I wear them.…
