    Mac & Cheese

So remember a few days ago I was talking about how the weather was finally starting to warm up and I was probably jinxing myself? Well, we had an early dismissal today because of snow! Yes, on the same day that I posted a wall of flowers for the weekly photo challenge and yes, on the same day as the first day of spring. It’s still snowing as I type this, but luckily none of it is really sticking to the roads – it’s just a slushy mess outside. So if you’re like me and staying in tonight because it’s cold and messy outside or if you’re staying in just…

    Photo Challenge: Wall

The weekly photo challenge from The Daily Post was “Wall” and I realized I don’t really have many pictures of walls. Or at least, none that I found to be too interesting or artistic looking. Digging into your archives can be a bit overwhelming and tedious unless you already have something in mind or a vague idea of what you’re searching for, so suffice it to say I didn’t have the patience to sit and sort through all my photos. Of the little bit of searching I did, this is the photo that I came across that I liked the best to represent “wall”. This was taken two years ago in…

    What I’ll Miss About “Glee”

The series finale of Glee is tomorrow night and I’m going to miss it. When the show started 6 seasons ago, it was a massive success. The story of a group of kids, who felt like outcasts and misfits find a sense of community and belonging with each other in the glee club. That premise combined with the comedy and the fun musical numbers made the show very popular. And I, like a lot of America, ate it up. I even went to one of their concerts, which was amazingly fun by the way! Over the years, while still a hit, it started to lose viewers. I even have friends who…

    Review: Almay Shadow Softies

You may remember back in January when I hauled these two little Almay Shadow Softies. I finally got around to really try them out recently. What did I think of them? Keep reading to find out! The shades I bought were “Creme Brulee” and “Lilac”. In the pan, they look like soft, pigmented shadows. But unfortunately, they did not live up to my expectations. Behold, my swatch photo! You may have to strain your eyes to see the swatches on my arm and I really, really rubbed my finger in those shadows to try to get a swatch. You can just barely see the Lilac shade on my arm. Now,…

    Leather Accented Sweater Dress

It’s finally been consistently above 40 degrees during the day lately! I may be jinxing myself since the current weather report is for a wintery mix this Friday, but let’s hope that doesn’t happen. But nonetheless, the past few days have been pretty nice and even above 50 by the time I leave work. With this warmer weather, I finally got to wear a dress the other day to work! Yes, I know I could always wear a dress during the cold, winter months, but unless it’s a special event warmth wins. Dress: LOFT Leggings: Pink Rose Boots: Steve Madden via DSW Originally, I was going to wear lace tights with this sweater dress…

“Stay With Me” – A Dance

I’m going to safely assume you all have heard Sam Smith’s song “Stay With Me”. While I loved it for a good while last year when it first came out, I started to get tired of hearing it all the time. You know, when it gets to the point that you hear it so often that whenever it comes on the radio you change the channel. Now that it’s been a while since I’ve listened to the song, I don’t mind it again. I recently came across this video of two professional dancers dancing to the song. Most of you don’t know that I danced while growing up until I…

    Anchors Away

How did it become the middle of March? When did that happen? So I have just a few days of parent/teacher conferences left, which should be pretty easy. The tiring thing this week is going to be the standardized testing we have all week. Let’s not open up that whole can of worms, but I’m going to have to go against all my teacher instincts since I’m not allowed to say anything that isn’t part of the testing script! No reminding students to check their work, no making sure they’re staying on task instead of staring into space. So before my week of test administering begins, here’s a look from…

    Tricky Trend: Sheer Blouse

Tricky Trend: Sheer Blouse by lifeaccordingtojamie featuring a white silk top I love when Polyvore has these challenges for “tricky trends” because it’s either something I personally don’t find tricky and have some ideas for already or it makes me really think about what I would do if I wanted to wear said trend. ***** The sheer blouse trend is something I wear, however, I always wear a tank top or camisole underneath. Many work blouses tend to be of the sheerer variety. But, something I see a lot of in street styles, is a sheer blouse with just a colored bra underneath. Obviously, that’s not something I can get…

    Peplum Vest

I love peplum tops. In my opinion, they can look good on just about every body type. I’ve had this peplum vest for a while and whenever I wear it I pair it with a solid color sweater or long sleeve tee underneath. I think it’s definitely something different and not the type of piece you see too often. Peplum Vest: Style & Co via Macy’s Top: Gap Pants: LOFT There is a small, clear button on the inside so you can war this vest open or closed. I like it both ways, but I think keeping it buttoned allows you to see the ruffles better. The cut is also similar to…
