Book Review: The Wedding Witch

The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling is the last book in the Graves Glen series and follows Bowen Penhallow and Tamsyn Bligh.

Bowen is the brother to Rhys and Wells so he is also a witch. He spent the past few years doing research in a secluded area. We learn that all the research he’s been doing for years is to help save his friend. Tamsyn is human, but works with witches all the time since she procures and sells magical items. Bowen has used Tamsyn’s services before, but decides to have her work for him exclusively.

It’s Yule time and Bowen goes to Tywyll House for the witchy wedding of the century – the wedding of a very wealthy and very old witch family at the request of his best friend whom he’s trying to save. Tamsyn ends up at the same wedding when she decides to do one final non-Bowen job and the item she needs will be at the wedding. Things aren’t what the seem at this old estate and before Bowen and Tamsyn know it they’ve been transported back in time. They’re still at Tywyll House, but it’s Yuletide Celebrations in 1958. The two, who have always been attracted to one another, now have to pretend they’re a married couple while trying to figure out how to get back to 2024.

I loved this book and how magical it all was. I really enjoyed the time traveling aspect and seeing the side characters as younger versions of what we were introduced to them as in present day. I loved Bowen and Tamsyn and thought they were great and entertaining characters. My only critique of the book is that the ending felt a bit abrupt. They had been trying to figure out what was keeping them in the past and how to fix things so I felt like the ending deserved to be expanded on.

All in all, I loved the book and wish the series wasn’t over!

Read this if you want a spicy witchy Christmas romcom with the fake dating trope.
