Capitol Dome
Yesterday was a long, but good day in the city. I went to a book launch event and had a great time. But more on that in a post this weekend! Now I’ve got a lot of housekeeping things to take care of (literally and figuratively – laundry and cooking but also blog work). While scrolling through photos on my phone I came across my photos from my trip to Washington, DC during the holidays. I saw these photos I took in the Capitol Building – in the rotunda. They are shots looking up at the fresco painted on ceiling of the dome. I vaguely remember our tour guide saying…

Branch Brook Park – Cherry Blossom Festival
If you follow me on Instagram then you might have seen in my stories that I went to Branch Brook Park in Newark yesterday to see the cherry blossoms. The large park has a week long cherry blossom festival every spring and today is the last day. Obviously you can go any time while the trees are in bloom to see them – you’re not limited to this one week – but since cherry blossoms only last about 2 weeks you’ve got to be quick about it. Also the festival just means that each day there is some sort of special event to celebrate the cherry blossoms at the park.…

Finding Affordable Ways To Show Off Your Photos
(Image Credit) Digital photography has done an awful lot to change the way that people take their pictures. Opening the doors to loads more storage space, the ability to easily edit images after they are taken, and opportunities to delete photos, this sort of hobby doesnβt have to be budgeting anywhere near as strictly as it used to be. Of course, though, when it comes to bringing a digital image into the real world, things can start to get a little more expensive. To help you out with this, this post will be exploring some of the most affordable ways to start enjoying your own photo prints without having to…

#fbf Mums
For this flashback Friday I thought it’d be nice to revisit fall since we’re in the midst of holiday and winter content now. Here’s a look of a pot of multicolor mums I got back in October. When I got the plant it was just buds so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out they were multicolor blooms! I love the mix of pink, red, and orange. So pretty! Sadly my mums are no longer and not because it got cold. The snow we got a few weeks ago crushed them and basically broke my poor plant in half! Have a great Friday!

Photo Challenge: Twisted
So happy today is Friday! This 4 day week hasn’t been too bad, but life has been so hectic lately that I will take any kind of break I can get. Today’s photo challenge response is sadly the last one! The Daily Post has decided to end their weekly challenges on WordPress, which is a bummer as I really enjoyed using the photo challenges as an excuse to take new photos and/or look through all my old ones to find a photo to use. I thought about finding new photo challenges to take part in as there are so many on the Internet I’m sure, but I think what I…

Photo Challenge: Liquid
In a few hours it will officially be Memorial Day Weekend! Do you guys have any plans? I’ll be at wedding #2 of 3. If you’ve been reading some of my blog posts the past 1-2 weeks then you know I have 3 weddings to attend within 4 weeks, so we’re up to the 2nd one now. I have an event tonight for it and then all day tomorrow so I’m happy it is a long weekend! For last week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post, “Liquid“, I decided to go with the icy variety of liquid. If you’ve been a long time reader of my blog then you may…

Photo Challenge: Place in the World
Happy Friday! It may almost be the weekend, but it’s actually the start of a very busy week (or two or three) for me. I have 3 weddings to go to in the span of 4 weekends plus lots of wedding related events and other social events to go to during the weeks. Oh yeah and regular/work/personal things to get done. Hopefully I don’t completely burn out! But let me take one thing at a time so as to keep myself from going crazy – starting with today’s photo challenge response. The Daily Post’s photo challenge last week was “Place in the World“. I decided to use a photo from…

Photo Challenge: Unlikely
It’s finally Friday, everyone! This week has felt exceptionally long and yesterday was particularly stressful and crazy, but that’s for another day. Hopefully today will be a much calmer day at work and then I’ve got dinner plans and a bonfire at work/school so at least those are things to look forward to! If you had asked me a few years ago if I would ever watch a “movie under the stars” and it be broad daylight at 10pm, I would say that’s crazy – highly “Unlikely“. But, lo and behold, I was on an Alaskan cruise 2 summers ago and watched two or three movies under the stars on…
