Sweat App – Body & Mind

Happy Friday! This week has been soooo long. And I know people say that a lot, but seriously – it felt like it took forever to me. In fact, for the past 2 days the first thing in my head when I wake up is that it was Friday and then I realized it was not Friday. Huge let down! I’ve been extra tired this week – probably a mix of being busy and not getting enough sleep. I can’t wait to get a solid sleep tonight! If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you know earlier this year I was doing the BBG program on the…

    September 2018 Favorites

I can’t believe it’s Monday already. Weekends go by way too fast. I had a full weekend, but it wasn’t super busy and I got a decent amount of sleep both Friday and Saturday night so I don’t know why I was so tired all weekend! Anyway, I can’t believe it’s already Monday and I also don’t know how it’s October!? I have a few favorites from September to share. I watched a lot of stuff on Netflix and Amazon in September for some reason. Amongst all the things my two favorites hands-down were Jack Ryan and To All the Boys I Loved Before. The new take on the Jack Ryan stories…

    The Importance of Self-Care

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you all have had a great week so far and are ready for the long weekend! If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I am a huge advocate for massages and self-care in general. Massages are something I used to just treat myself to once a year or on vacations where the hotel had a spa. It was something that I always looked forward to and I thought of it as a luxury. And it is a luxury, but something that I’ve learned is worth treating yourself to more than annually if you are able to. Now I get massages monthly…

    Health & Fitness Update

I haven’t forgotten that I need to update you all on my fitness/health goals/progress. So last time I wrote about how I was really slacking with BBG lately and that I would be going on vacation for 16 days (including travel days) in August so I wouldn’t be exercising then either aside from lots of walking. And lots of walking, I did! I mentioned in that post that it would be a good idea to keep track of my steps while I was away since that would be my primary source of exercise. So I did! Day 1 – 5.9 miles, 17,239 steps Day 2 – 4.5 miles, 11,764 steps Day…

    BBG 5 Month Check-In

I went back and forth last night with whether to write this post, because I didn’t have much to say – but I decided to go through with it because I want to be honest and keep it real on here! I may rename this series Health & Fitness from BBG, but for now it will stay. So I don’t have much to say this month because I’ve been seriously slacking on the workouts. Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t completely abandoned my workouts, but I definitely haven’t been completing all the workouts within a week like I used to do so diligently. This isn’t because I don’t feel like…

My Visit to Island Spa & Sauna

A few weeks ago Island Spa & Sauna invited me to celebrate their 3 year anniversary. Never one to pass up an opportunity to go to a spa, I immediately said yes! They invited me in and offered me complimentary admission, meal, and drink. To celebrate their 3rd anniversary, they are offering all of you a free admission ticket with the purchase of any 60 minutes (or longer) spa service. And let me tell you, it is worth it! Despite this spa being just 20 minutes from me, I had never been. I’d heard great things and seen it when I drove by but never went myself. I documented my time…

    BBG: 4 Month Check-In

It’s hard to believe I’ve been doing BBG for 4 months already! So in an effort to always keep it real with you on here – this month I’ve been slacking on the effort I’m putting in to my workouts. It’s been a really busy and stressful month for me. Two months actually, but it hasn’t let up so my BBG dedication has taken a backseat. I’ve been busy with getting my new townhouse ready (my first post on the townhouse – pre & post painting will be on the blog in a couple weeks), multiple weddings, the winding down of the school year, etc. It’s not that I’ve been…

    BBG: 3 Month Check-In

I’m back with my 3 month check-in of the BBG program. I can’t believe I’ve been keeping up with this for 3 months already! Like with my first and second check-ins, I haven’t found it hard to stay motivated and keep up with working out 6 days a week. Some days are a little tougher to get myself going than others, but I haven’t skipped any days which i’m really proud of myself for. The only days I don’t do some sort of BBG exercise is on my rest days. I’m still doing BBG1 and it’s been tough. I definitely think I’ll be re-doing BBG1 at the end of the…

    Review: No! No! Pro

Have you seen the commercials for the No! No! Pro? It’s an at-home hair removal system that uses Advanced Thermicon Technology to remove hair as well as treats it for smooth results. It’s one of those hair removal systems that claims to make the hair grow back slower so over time you’ll have to use it less and less. The size of the No! No! Pro is great, it’s just a small handheld device. There are 2 brush sizes and the directions are really clear on how to use it and which brush to use for which parts of the body. You roll the device towards you and it takes some…

    BBG 2 Month Check In

I’ve made it to the end of 2 months of BBG! I was motivated at the start of this journey, but it’s been easier to keep up with than I could have imagined. Don’t get me wrong, the workouts are tiring and some of the exercises are really hard, but the program hasn’t been hard to keep up with hence why I haven’t given up. Not a whole lot has changed since my 1 month check in. The exercises have gotten a little harder and now I have to do 4 cardio workouts a week instead of 3. I’ve also moved on to BBG1 from the Beginner program. My weight…
