Ignoring small wellness issues can have a big impact on your life and even result in issues such as mental and physical exhaustion. Of course, it can be easy to become a victim of your own ignorance, with potentially life-changing problems that are hard to reverse. But what are these? From hormonal imbalance to emotional burnout, here are some of the worst to watch for.

Potential Cognitive Decline Issues

Even mild exhaustion can be a sign of an underlying health issue or an ongoing problem that needs to be resolved. It can manifest as cognitive decline, including an inability to focus when doing your work. However, this can also be a sign of hearing depletion, so get hearing aids repaired if you wear them. If you don’t, mental fatigue can impact your hearing loss and make things much harder to deal with, meaning you then have multiple issues to put up with.

Higher Cortisol and Lower Serotonin

Hormones have a massive impact on your physical and mental health, as any woman who has gone through menopause can tell you. Of course, hormonal changes occur throughout life, no matter your age, and there are two that are critical for good mental health. Cortisol governs your fight or flight response, and serotonin is the reward chemical that makes you feel good. When there is an imbalance, you can feel drained and even suicidal, as you get stuck in a depression.

Ignoring Small Wellness Issues Harms Physical Health

Even though only around 14% of adults in the US use mind-body techniques such as mindfulness and yoga, the physiological and biological connection is real for everyone on the planet. That’s why ignoring health and wellness habits can take its toll on your body as well. For example, ignoring issues such as chronic headaches can result in a weakened immune system. Similarly, a sedentary lifestyle without even minimal exercise can cause cardiovascular issues.

The Potential for Emotional Burnout

Burnout is more common than people often think, and it is usually tied to things like a poor family and social life, combined with an unfulfilling career. This combination can take a toll on how you feel, made even worse by ignoring wellness fundamentals such as alone time, time for exercise, and healthy eating. If left for too long without a wellness routine, you can devolve into feelings of despair, explosive anger, and detachment as part of a generalized anxiety disorder.

Strained Relationships and Social Life

One of the worst things that can happen when you are exhausted by life and don’t take care of personal wellness is strained relationships. This can range from run-ins with colleagues to shouting matches with your partner, and even disrespect towards the general public. Everyone needs meaningful social interactions as part of the human experience. However, this takes a backseat when you don’t take care of yourself and act out of emotion and volatility first,

Summary

There is the potential for cognitive decline through an exhausting life when ignoring small wellness issues that have a big impact. A lack of wellness in your life can also result in poor physical health, and ongoing problems can also put a massive strain on your relationships.
