Book Review: Good Spirits
I’m a big B.K. Borison fan and I knew she could write a good holiday romance since my first ever read by her (and the book that launched her career) was Lovelight Farms. But her latest is her first paranormal romance and the first in her new Ghosted series, Good Spirits.

The novel follows Harriet York and Nolan Callahan. Harriet is a young woman living in Annapolis and owner of an antique shop. Nolan is the Ghost of Christmas Past. He’s been sent to haunt Harriet with visits to Christmases past so she can recognize her bad behavior and error in her ways and correct herself before its too late. Harriet doesn’t know why Nolan’s haunting her, but is wondering if she has done something to be considered a bad person. However, it becomes abundantly clear to Nolan early on that there must be some mistake, because everything he’s seen so far and his interactions with Harriet show her to be a really good person. She’s never purposely wronged anyone or been intentionally hurtful. In fact, she has been wronged and treated poorly by some of the people closest to her, her whole life.
Nolan’s boss assures him that there’s been no mistake and Harriet is his assignment. There must be a purpose for the two of them to work together, but if she’s a good person who doesn’t need to change her ways before it’s too late, then what is it?
I loved this book. Nolan and Harriet were perfect and I fell in love with them and their story. I loved watching them get to know one another and seeing their friendship and feelings for one another develop.
Slight Spoiler: Their love they come to have for one another, especially when they may have to part when Christmas Eve approaches, is so deep. Their desperation when they don’t want to let go of each other is so raw and emotional and really set the book apart for me. It instantly made them one of my favorite fictional couples ever.
Read this if you want a spicy paranormal holiday romance.
