I didn’t intend to read the Briar U series but I I didn’t intend to read the Briar U series but I ended up reading The Chase because it was about Summer & Fitzy from Off-Campus. Then, of course I had to read book 2, The Risk, because it’s about Brenna & Jake Connelly! 📚💖🏒 The Risk follows Brenna, Coach Jensen’s daughter and Summer’s best friend, and her unlikely romance with Jake Connelly, star of the rival hockey team at Harvard. During their brief interactions in The Chase, Brenna and Jake don’t exactly like each other. Now Brenna is trying to get an internship at a hockey tv network but her potential boss won’t give her the time of day during the interview because she’s a woman. That is until she finds out the guy is a crazy obsessed fan of the very NHL team that just signed Jake and she tells him that Jake is her boyfriend. Now will Jake help her out and pretend to be her boyfriend? And what will he do if he likes her when he just lectured his team about no distractions? 📚💖🏒 I really enjoyed this second book in the Briar U series! I’ve been wanting to read a mafia romance for a I’ve been wanting to read a mafia romance for a while and my friends recommended the Made series by @danielleloriwrites Danielle Lori to me 📚. The first book The Sweetest Oblivion had me hooked right away! 💖 The book is told from a dual pov (which I love) and focuses on Elena Abelli and Nicolas Russo aka Nico or Ace. Nico is the head of the Russo family after his father’s death a few years prior. Elena’s father is the head of the Abelli family. To join the family’s together Nico is to marry Elena’s sister. But Elena and Nico have undeniable chemistry though they both try to fight it by being rude and sarcastic to each other. When his engagement with Elena’s sister falls through, Elena is now contracted to marry him and while they both pretend they’re doing it purely out of obligation and honor, they both desperately want to be together. But there is scandal in Elena’s past.
