    Weasley Sweater

Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2020! Well, actually I really can’t believe it because I’m writing this ahead of time and it’s still 2019 right now so hello from the past! Last night I had White Elephant/Secret Santa with my friends who I have been doing it with since high school. Since I’m writing this before the party, I’m just going to assume we had a great time. I’ll have to get back to you tomorrow on what gift I ended up with. Anyway, the outfit I’m sharing with you today is what I wore to White Elephant. How I came across this sweatshirt is my friend had suggested…

  • Harry Potter Sugar Cookies

    Harry Potter Sugar Cookies

So remember when I bought the Star Wars pancake molds from Williams-Sonoma? When I bought those I also bought Harry Potter cookie cutters. I’ve had a lot more success with the cookie cutters than with the pancake molds so far! For Thanksgiving I made a batch of sugar cookies with the cookie cutters. I decorated them with sprinkles in the colors of the Hogwarts houses. I know they’re not exactly the right shades of colors, but it’s the best I could do with supermarket sprinkles! With the exception of a couple of cookies where the imprint didn’t come out as deep and clear, they came out really good! I love…

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – Makers, Mysteries, and Magic

Do you have an Audible account? I didn’t until recently (does a free trial count?) because Audible was kind enough to send me a copy of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – Makers, Mysteries, and Magic! I just saw the movie this weekend so I was even more pumped to listen to this behind the scenes audio. First off – I saw the movie late Saturday night and although the movie has gotten some negative reviews I actually didn’t think it was that bad. I’ll agree it wasn’t amazing and there are more questions than answers – but honestly anything related to Harry Potter isn’t going to get hate from…

  • NJPAC Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire Concert

Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire Concert

This past Saturday I went to see Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire in concert. Yes, in concert! You might be wondering what that means. So NJPAC (New Jersey Performing Arts Center) played the movie on a big screen on a stage while the New Jersey Symphony played the score. It was such a cool experience and I’d been looking forward to it since I bought the tickets weeks ago. First off, the venue is gorgeous inside. I’d never been to the NJPAC before in Newark, but it is really nice inside. I got tickets pretty late, so my seats were high up (not all the way at the top…

    Photo Challenge: Prolific

Happy Friday! Any big plans this weekend? It’s been another week where I have been going to sleep too late, so I’m looking forward to sleeping in a little tomorrow morning. I’ve got an early appointment Sunday morning so tomorrow is my only chance! Let’s get to my Friday photo challenge response. Last week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post was “Prolific“. Prolific can mean plentiful, abundant. Whenever I think of the word “prolific”, it makes me think of famous people and their careers – if they produce a lot of work, that is. The photo I’m using is from my trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (you…

Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Part 2

Yesterday I wrote about the first half of my day at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter last week at Universal Studios Orlando and I mentioned that I had so many pictures that I wanted to share that I had to split the post in two. So I’m back today with Part 2! Forgive me in advance if I write any sentences that don’t make sense. I’m writing this ahead of time (Tuesday night) and I came home from work today with a high fever. I’m taking a sick day tomorrow since my temperature isn’t back to normal yet and I have burst of energy right now – enough to…

Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Part 1

On my last full day of vacation, a few of us (it was a family vacation) went to Universal Studios primarily to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Being a huge Potter fan, I was excited to go and see Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and Diagon Alley! Although we only spent 1 day there, I took a billion pictures of everything there. They did a superb job at making everything so detailed. Since I took so many photos I’m splitting this visit to the park into two posts just so I don’t inundate you with so many photos. I think I picked out over 50 photos to share with you all…

    As Dumbledore Says…

If you know me, or have been following me on here long enough, you’ll know that I love Harry Potter. Harry Potter is chock full of good quotes like Sirius Black’s quote from The Prisoner of Azkaban when he says “The ones who love us never really leave us, you can always find them in here”. One of Albus Dumbledore’s most famous quotes – and one of the most famous quotes of the series in general – is: “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if only one remembers to turn on the light.” This quote is so inspirational and fitting for the times we live in right…

Review: Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them

It’s always hard to go back to work or school after a long weekend or holiday break so here’s hoping today goes by smoothly and quickly! Thanksgiving went by in a flash and as you all know the second Thanksgiving is over it is Christmas decorating and shopping at full steam ahead. I got my first dose of Christmas cheer this past weekend. Aside from decorating my house and Christmas tree, I met up with my friend to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and walked around the Christmas market in Bethlehem, PA. Some pictures and a short video on that in a few days! Today, however, I am…

    Photo Challenge: Transmogrify

Friday! If you read my post yesterday, I’m happy to report that I am on schedule with my to-do list of work that needs to get done. Hopefully today goes smoothly so I can stay on schedule and avoid additional stress. As with every Friday, I’m sharing my photo response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge. This week’s challenge was “Transmogrify” and like me you may be asking what does transmogrify mean?? Luckily, Michelle from The Daily Post, who posted this challenge shared the definition. It is “to change in appearance or form, especially strangely or grotesquely; transform.” This one really had me scratching my head trying to figure out…
