Restyled: Shaker Knit Sweater + Plaid Shirt Dress

I hope you all had a good weekend and you’re not too down about the fact that it’s back to work today. The outfit I’m sharing today is not just a restyling of the sweater and of the plaid shirt dress, but it’s also kind of a throwback look since it’s kind of 90s looking. I wanted to wear this blue and green plaid shirt dress to work last week, but I knew with it’s lightweight material that I’d need a sweater since I would most likely be cold. Instead of wearing it with a cardigan, I decided to wear my shaker knit sweater over it. I wore sweater tights and…

Red Plaid + Gold Layered Necklace

I love plaid. I could wear it all year round, but I know it’s often seen as more of a winter style. This red plaid top buttons down all the way and is nice and soft. I hate rough plaid tops. To dress it up a little, I paired it with a layered gold disc necklace. The discs have a hammered look to them, so it’s not your typical coin style necklace that we all know and love, but this one is pretty too. Top: Express | Leggings: J.Crew | Necklace: Vici | Boots: UGG Along with the gold layered necklace, I wore this red and black plaid top with black…

    Buffalo Check Off-the-Shoulder

It’s back to work for me today. It’s supposed to be a shorter day for us since the students don’t come back until tomorrow, so I’m hoping today will be a nice way to ease back in to work. Nice being a relative term. On a happier and lighter note, I’m sharing a really cute buffalo check or plaid off-the shoulder top today. It’s actually the last look I shot with Lauren for our holiday shoot. I saved it for last because while it is red and can definitely be worn for holiday-wear it isn’t as Christmas-y as the bow brooch or plaid cape that I also wore for the shoot. I…

    Plaid Teddie Sweater

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great time ringing in 2019 doing whatever you wanted to do whether it was out at a big party, with friends at home, or sleeping! I got together with a few friends and we had a pajama/onesie party. My last day of 2018 didn’t start out so smoothly after burning a hole in my shirt with the iron, but I’m hoping 2019 will be a much better year! Today I’m sharing this sweater I wore on Christmas. I know, Christmas is technically 2 holidays ago, but it was just a week ago! I’m not sure why this sweater is called a…

    Restyled: Christmas Plaid Cape

Can you believe it’s the weekend before Christmas?! I can’t. It really crept up on us this year, I feel! I’ve wrapped a majority of my gifts so far. I have a just a few things left which I’ll get to later this weekend. Last winter I shared this perfect Christmas Plaid Cape. I wore it in that blog post with a mixed chevron white sweater and red velvet leggings. This time around I wore it with a plain white long sleeve v-neck tee, black pants, and green Hunter boots. I wanted to take advantage of my holiday shoot with Lauren to get some great shots of this amazing cape.…

    Christmas Plaid

Plaid is probably the most popular pattern in fall and winter and I’m all for it. Once seen (many years ago) as a print that your parents or farmers (or your farmer parents) would only wear now it’s super fashionable. A few weeks ago as it was getting closer to the Christmas season, I was looking for a plaid flannel top I had that was so soft and cozy and had the perfect Christmas look. It was a rich green and red plaid and so comfy. But I couldn’t find it anywhere! I still can’t find it. I know I hadn’t worn it in a year or two and whenever…

Restyled: Cold Shoulder Sweater + Plaid Foldover Clutch

Going back to work after a long weekend is always tough. I’m hoping today goes by quickly and smoothly! Today I’m sharing the last look from my fall photoshoot with Lauren – a restyling of two items that have been on the blog before. I thought that this white cold shoulder sweater paired with jeans, blue loafers, and my plaid foldover clutch would make the perfect fall look. Top: LOFT | Clutch: Lauren Ericka Designs via Aster Market | Jeans: Old Navy | Shoes: DSW I love the waffle knit of this cold shoulder sweater. It’s so cozy! Plaid is never not in style and it’s always perfect for fall. Foldover clutches…

Restyled: Lace & Plaid + Denim Jacket

Happy Saturday! This past week has been exhausting but filled with really fun things like the Goo Goo Dolls concert and a Christmas ceramics class (more on that in a few weeks!). For the concert I wore a red plaid top that has lace detailing in the back. I’ve worn it on the blog before but in a slightly different way so I thought it would make for a good restyling post. I mean, I didn’t change the outfit drastically, but it’s nice to revisit pieces especially when they are well-loved. When I originally wore this top on the blog I wore it with leggings and over-the-knee boots. This time…

Restyled: Hi-Lo Plaid + Mint Statement Earrings

A sure-fire way to make a very casual outfit look trendier or “nicer” is to add some jewelry. In this look I’m wearing a hi-lo plaid top in the softest material ever and mint green bead statement earrings. I’ve worn this top on the blog before (here) but this time I added super fun earrings. Top: Aeropostale | Jeans: LC Lauren Conrad via DSW | Shoes: Steve Madden via DSW | Earrings: Baublebar (here) The seed beads that make up these mint green earrings are so cute. I love mint green and when I saw these earrings I had to have them! They come in multiple colors, but you know…

    Blue Velvet Plaid

I think plaid can be worn all year long, personally, but one way to make it work for sure in spring is to wear it in a sheer blouse. The plaid in this sheer bell sleeve blouse has an open back and velvet plaid stripes. It’s so simple, yet so pretty. Top: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohl’s | Pants: Gap | Shoes: Target | Watch: Anne Klein | Ring: Stella & Dot I wore a navy blue tank top underneath this blouse to keep with the blue theme. The back is open and connects at two points for a flowy look. I paired the blouse with black pants and my…
