Book Review: The Pumpkin Spice Cafe
I’ve seen people rave about the Dream Harbor series by Laurie Gilmore for a long time. I had intentions to read the books for a while, but it wasn’t until one day a few months ago I was at Barnes & Noble and the books were bogo 50% off so I had to pick up all the ones that were out so far at the time. The first book is The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and it was so cute.

The novel follows Jeanie and Logan. Jeanie’s aunt owned the Pumpkin Spice Cafe in the small town of Dream Harbor and decided to retire and travel the world leaving the cafe to Jeanie. The timing could not be better since Jeanie has been thinking about how she wants to slow down from her non-stop work life in the city. Running the cafe that she remembers loving when she was growing up, might just be what she needs.
Logan is a local farmer in Dream Harbor and after accidentally scaring Jeanie he’s made it his mission to help her and the cafe thrive. Logan is drawn to Jeanie even though he wasn’t looking for a relationship after getting his heart broken by his ex who didn’t want to settle down in Dream Harbor. Plus, he doesn’t know if Jeanie plans to stay or if she’ll get tired of small town life and go back to Boston. Is it a good idea to get involved with Jeanie? As for Jeanie, a slower paced life in a small town where everyone knows everything about everyone is a change of pace, but is it what she wants?
This book was so cute and was a fun romcom and quick read. I loved Jeanie and Logan and all the side characters too so I can’t wait to continue reading and read about their love stories! The storyline was fun and gave me major fall vibes. It reminded me a little of Gilmore Girls too with all the small town characters. Take me to Dream Harbor!
