Book Review: Hothouse Flower
I read and loved the 5th book in the Addicted to You/Calloway Sisters series by Krista & Becca Ritchie earlier this week – Hothouse Flower.

This book follows Daisy and Ryke and I loved reading it because I love their dynamic. Their connection, despite their age difference, has been evident from earlier in the series. Although they have clear chemistry and a strong connection they never acted upon their feelings apart from flirting because Daisy’s young age made it inappropriate. But, I always loved how well Ryke understood Daisy and looked out for her. Daisy’s sisters love her, but with all their own issues she is easily forgotten especially being the youngest and usually away modeling. Ryke really looked out for her and that doesn’t change once she turns 18 in Hothouse Flower. In fact, he takes cares of her and she confides him more than ever after the events of the previous books have left her with a great deal of anxiety and PTSD.
The novel follows Daisy as she continues to struggle with her unhappiness in her career and PTSD from physical and emotional attacks in previous books. Ryke helps her through all of these things and the two continue to try to fight against their intense feelings and attraction for one another, until Daisy goes through another life threatening situation and they realize they can’t live without one another or live with denying their love for each other any longer. But can their families and the public accept them being together?
I love Ryke and Daisy together. Daisy is a bit of a wildcard and I think there will be more about her stable she is in their next book, but I still love her. I think Ryke is such a complex and interesting character and I love how fiercely he loves Daisy, Lo, and the others.
I’m halfway through the series now!
