Book Review: Savage Lover
I finally read book 3, Savage Lover, of the Brutal Birthright series by Sophie Lark. I sure am taking my time with this mafia romance series!

This one follows Nero Gallo and Camille Rivera. Nero is Aida’s brother and if you are familiar with the series then you know the series follows the Gallos and the Griffins who were rivals but brought together with the arranged marriage between Aida and Callum. Nero was described in the first two books as the most wild and impulsive Gallo, which we definitely see in this book with his penchant for getting into fights and drag racing, etc. Camille mostly stays out of trouble and keeps her head down. She’s been helping her dad in their autoshop since she was a kid and now with his health issues she basically runs the shop herself while looking after her teenage brother. Struggling to make ends meet, Camille is the opposite end of the financial spectrum from the wealthy Gallos. But, Camille and Nero do know each other from high school, growing up in the same area of Chicago, but did not interact.
When Camille finds herself in trouble after trying to protect her brother, Nero might be the only one who can help her. And although the two come from very different worlds, there is an undeniable attraction and understanding between the two.
I loved this book! It might be my favorite of the series so far. I’ve loved the other characters in the previous books too, but there was just something about Nero and Camille that I really loved. I loved that they’ve both gone through hard and dark times and were able to connect on that level despite having vastly different upbringings. I was hooked on the story from start to finish.
