Book Review: The Reaper
I read the second book in the Dark Verse series by Runyx this week – The Reaper, which picks up right where the first book The Predator left off.

Without giving too much away, Morana has turned away from her father after he tries to have her killed and has turned to the only ones she trusts who happen to be from a rival mob family – Tristan and Dante. Tristan and Morana have finally given in to their feelings for one another and admitted they care about one another and it’s not just a physical thing. Tristan also will not give up Morana even though their relationship will pose problems when he brings her back to Tenebrae. They, along with Dante, continue to work to find out who stole the codes and other mysterious messages that have been sent to Morana regarding a series of kidnappings/trafficking ring from 20 years ago that link to the Maronis and Vitalios.
Just like with The Predator, I was hooked on this book from start to finish. I love how strong Morana is in this one, but also how vulnerable her and Tristan are able to be while the other supports them. I can’t wait to see what happens next and to see the focus shift to Dante and Amara!
