Book Review: Fuel the Fire

I’m almost to the end of the Addicted/Calloway Sisters series by Krista and Becca Ritchie! I started reading this 10 book series last summer and have been taking my time with it. I just finished book 8, Fuel the Fire, yesterday.

This one goes back to focusing on Rose and Connor. In Kiss the Sky we saw Rose and Connor get married and in Addicted After All they had their baby, Jane. Fuel the Fire picks up shortly after the end of Addicted After All and sees the intellectual power couple working as a team to protect their family.

In one of the previous books (I can’t remember which one now) the core 6 were all living together and filming a reality show “Princesses of Philly” to help rehab Lo and Lily’s images after the news of their addictions became public. That ended up being disastrous, although Lily and Lo did won over the public. But the downside was executive producer, Scott, took advantage of them and filmed Rose and Connor in their bedroom unknowingly and began selling videos of them to adult film sites. Unable to take the videos down for good, it’s something that Rose and Connor have learned to live with. That is until the mansion across the street from the one they share with Lily, Lo, Ryke, Daisy, and Lily & Lo’s baby son Moffy, that they were planning to buy so they could still all be close gets sold out from under them. Not only are they upset that they lost out on the house but they learn their new neighbor is none other than Scott. He wants them to film a second season of the reality show and if they do he’ll sell the rights back to them of all their tapes.

While Rose and Connor figure out how to deal with Scott, they’re also manipulating the media to keep them in the spotlight even if it’s for scandalous things so that they leave the babies – Jane and Moffy – alone and safe. Can they keep their loved ones safe?

I loved this book and it reminded me how much I love Rose and Connor. I love their intellectual banter and how they both come off as cold and serious but with each other and with their loved ones they are loving and the fiercest supporters and protectors. Rose always has her guard up and I really liked that she allowed herself to be vulnerable in this novel and allowed herself to feel all the feels when life was tough. And seeing Rose and Connor with their baby, Jane, was so adorable!
