Book Review: Reckless
I read Reckless, the 4th book in the Chestnut Springs series by Elsie Silver last week and was surprised how much I loved Theo and Winter.

The novel follows Winter Hamilton and Theo Silva. We’ve met both characters in previous books. Winter is Summer’s older half-sister who has been stand off-ish and seemingly cold for most of Summer’s life. Theo is Rhett’s protege.
When Winter decides to leave her job in the city and divorce her horrible husband, she heads to Chestnut Springs for a fresh start and to hopefully get closer to her sister. Winter and Theo officially meet at a family dinner at Wishing Well Ranch and begin bickering immediately. But their fighting is laced with tension as they’re wildly attracted to one another despite also supposedly not being able to stand one another. One thing leads to another that night and they decide to have a one-night stand with no strings and they will never speak of it again. Only Winter isn’t able to move on from that night. Not only because it was the best night of her life but because she gets pregnant with Theo’s baby.
Fast forward 18 months and Winter is living full time in Chestnut Springs with her baby girl, Vivi, and has been fully embraced by the Eatons. She had tried to tell Theo about the pregnancy, but for reasons (no spoilers) he doesn’t learn about her until she’s 9 months old. Now the two have to navigate co-parenting and their feelings for one another. Can the two have a future together and be a family with their daughter?
I loved this book and absolutely loved Theo and Winter together. At first I was skeptical I would love them as much as the other couples in the series since he’s not an Eaton, but they stole my heart. I found Winter’s insecurities to be really relatable so I understand where she was coming from throughout the book. The chemistry between the two is so good and their banter is funny. And I always love a kid or baby in the storyline and Theo with Vivi will melt your heart.
Read this if you want a spicy cowboy romance with the accidental pregnancy trope.
