Book Review: And Now, Back to You

I’m a big fan of B.K. Borison and have read all her books. Last year, I read and loved First-Time Caller, the first book in her Heartstrings series. The latest book in the series is And Now, Back to you and was just as good!

The novel follows Jackson Clark and Delilah Stewart. Jackson is the weatherman for the local radio station and best friends with Aiden from the first book. Delilah is the weatherwoman at the local news station across from the radio station and they share a parking lot. I don’t remember if we actually met Delilah in First-Time Caller, but we definitely heart about her, because Jackson complained about her multiple times over her bad parking and disaster tendencies (for him) like spilling things on him in the parking lot or dinging his car among other things.

When Jackson’s boss and Delilah’s boss invite the two of them to a meeting the last thing they’re expecting is to be told that they will be working together to report on an impending blizzard coming to the Maryland/Baltimore area. Not only will they have to work together, but they have to report from a few hours west of Baltimore and stay at a lodge together.

Jackson and Delilah might act like the other annoys them – Jackson claims Delilah is too unpredictable with her bad parking and antics like dressing up like a turtle for a news story on turtles. and Delilah thinks Jackson is too buttoned up and serious. But, their time snowed in at the lodge together for a week makes them get to know each other better and understand one another. Jackson has his reasons for being as regimented as he is and the thing he loves most aside from the weather are his twin little sisters who he adopted. And, Delilah loves the weather too and wishes she could focus on that instead of the fluff pieces her boss keeps making her do.

Will these two opposites have more in common than they think? Can they survive together in close quarters for a week?

I loved this book and loved Jackson and Delilah. The story was so fun and I loved them getting to know each other. Jackson’s relationship with his sisters was so heartwarming and the fact that Delilah could relate to his sisters was really perfect. I really liked how everyone including Jackson and all his friends, and Delilah’s coworkers really rallied behind Delilah when they realized how she was being treated by her boss at the news station. And this isn’t really a spoiler, but I really appreciated that there wasn’t a third act breakup. There was a point where it could have happened, but I was happy that they communicated and worked through it so that the third act breakup wouldn’t happen. The epilogue was also so sweet!

Read this if you want a rivals to lovers romcom with forced proximity.
