Secret Garden Inspo
When I was little one of my favorite movies was The Secret Garden. I haven’t seen it in ages so I can’t give you specific details, but I remember having it on vhs, watching it many many times, and loving it. Although, I remember parts of it kinda scared me – probably because it mostly takes place in a dark estate. Not to mention Mary’s (the main character) uncle is a little scary. Anyway, I loved the movie because of the big house that Mary explores and the feeling of mystery and magic when she finds and brings the secret garden back to life. The movie is based on the novel…

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – Makers, Mysteries, and Magic
Do you have an Audible account? I didn’t until recently (does a free trial count?) because Audible was kind enough to send me a copy of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – Makers, Mysteries, and Magic! I just saw the movie this weekend so I was even more pumped to listen to this behind the scenes audio. First off – I saw the movie late Saturday night and although the movie has gotten some negative reviews I actually didn’t think it was that bad. I’ll agree it wasn’t amazing and there are more questions than answers – but honestly anything related to Harry Potter isn’t going to get hate from…

Keeping Warm with Star Wars
My friends and I might be the last people to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi but this past weekend was the first weekend we were able to all go together since we were also having our Secret Santa party. Keep reading for my thoughts on the movie, but first I want to share this funnel neck sweatshirt I picked up last month. I had intended to wear it in Disney World and then the forecast looked too warm to bring it, so I didn’t. Then, of course it turned really cold while I was in Florida and pretty much all over the country and I wish I had brought it!…

Spider-Man: Homecoming
It’s been a while since I’ve written a movie review so I thought I’d share a few quick thoughts on the latest Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming. I saw the movie last week in IMAX 3D and the movie theater even gave us little Spider-Man desk figures. A nice touch, but I really have no use for it! I have to preface this by saying that I love Marvel movies and I’m not too hard to please when it comes to them. With that being said, I thought this movie was fantastic! It had action, humor, and a likeable cast. I loved that the beginning of the movie tied in with Spider-Man’s…

The Light Between Oceans – Book vs. Movie
The Light Between Oceans came out in the movie theaters in the fall and the book was published in 2012, but I just got around to reading the novel and watching the movie. I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie and didn’t have time back in the fall. I had heard that the movie was really sad so that made me hesitant to read the book because I wasn’t really in the mood to read a sad story. But I decided to go ahead and read it. Let’s start with a brief synopsis. Tom Sherbourne is a World War I veteran who has recently taken on a…

Anastasia on Broadway
I’m back to work today after a week off for spring break and I may or may not have been super down about it last night… In any case, I’m back today to talk about the Broadway musical – Anastasia! So Anastasia was one of my favorite movies as a kid and I was going to add it to my post I recently did about movies I loved, but I knew I was going to see the Broadway show so I thought I’d save my thoughts on the movie til now. I loved the movie when I was a kid and if you don’t know what it’s about I’ll give you…

December 2016 Favorites
I tend to post my monthly favorites on the last day of a month or the very beginning of a new month, but seeing as how December is the last month of the year and tomorrow I’ll be looking back on 2016 as a whole I figured today I should talk about just December. My monthly favorites for December revolves heavily around all things Christmas, because naturally a lot of the things I did, ate, etc. this month dealt with the holiday. First up, I have 2 candle favorites this month. It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of the 3-wick candles from Bath & Body Works and when…

Review: Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them
It’s always hard to go back to work or school after a long weekend or holiday break so here’s hoping today goes by smoothly and quickly! Thanksgiving went by in a flash and as you all know the second Thanksgiving is over it is Christmas decorating and shopping at full steam ahead. I got my first dose of Christmas cheer this past weekend. Aside from decorating my house and Christmas tree, I met up with my friend to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and walked around the Christmas market in Bethlehem, PA. Some pictures and a short video on that in a few days! Today, however, I am…

“The Longest Ride” – 2nd (or more) Generation Hollywood
I have had a fascination with Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general since I was a little kid. Movies, TV, celebrities, I loved and still love it all. I always had a natural inclination to learn as much as I could. I never wanted to be an actress or director or anything like that; I was just an avid observer. *Side note: One of my dream jobs would be a journalist who interviews celebrities. But not like the kind of fluff interviews for tabloids or Extra. The kind of articles you read in magazines like Vanity Fair where the writer meets the actor at a cafe and talks to…

Movie Review: Ghostbusters
Last Friday, I went to see the new Ghostbusters movie starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. I didn’t originally plan on going to the movies that day. I was supposed to go to see hot air balloons go up around sunrise for their practice runs for the weekend’s NJ Hot Air Balloon Festival, but the weather put a damper on that (pun intended). So my friend and I decided to go to lunch and see Ghostbusters instead. A solid backup plan! I was looking forward to watching this movie because the trailer looked really funny and I usually love whatever Melissa McCarthy is in. I knew there was…
