    Photo Challenge: Peek

We’ve made it to Friday! The week went by pretty quickly, but I’m so ready for the weekend and resting up. I’m feeling so drained and I’m excited that Thanksgiving break is just around the corner! But enough about all that, let’s get to my photo challenge response. Last week’s photo challenge was “Peek” and this photo I took on the highway into Toronto back in August came to mind. If you don’t know, I went to Canada for a long weekend in August to visit family. I took this photo as we approached the city and could see some of the city skyline. You can just see the famous…

    Photo Challenge: Layered

I’m so happy it’s Friday! I’ve been so tired all week and I can’t wait to relax a little this weekend. Last week’s photo challenge was “Layered” and for some reason I immediately thought of food. Then I just had to think of what kind of layered food I had a photo of that was photo challenge worthy. I decided on this photo I took from an intense seafood dinner at Fishman Lobster Clubhouse with family while in Toronto over the summer. They are famous for their mountains of lobster and crab. This is a photo of the tower of King Crab Legs we got! Isn’t that nuts?! Talk about…

    Photo Challenge: Reflecting

Happy Friday! The week went by pretty quickly, but I’m still glad the weekend is upon us. Like last week’s photo challenge post, I’m cheating a little. Last week, I posted a photo of lightning and shared that it was actually a video that I screenshot and that my brother had taken it (although I was next to him when he took it. Does proximity count?) For my photo challenge response to “Reflecting” I’m using another photo that I didn’t personally take. Why didn’t I take it? Because I’m in it! This photo was taken at my cousin’s wedding in Toronto two years ago, which I briefly wrote about (here) when I…

    Photo Challenge: Door

While traveling since the latest Photo Challenge was announced by The Daily Post, “Door”, I was really keeping an eye out for any cool or interesting looking doors. Finding unique doors is a lot harder than I thought it would be! So my response to the photo challenge is not technically a door, but it kind of is. The entrance to the parking lot of Casa Imperial, which I wrote about yesterday, has an open gate with beautiful brick and ivy. Gates are technically doors right? Well, it’s the best I could come up with this week so it’ll have to do!

    Casa Imperial

My cousin’s wedding was this past Sunday in Toronto, so since a good number of my family (extended and immediate) were all in the same place we went out for a big family dinner the following night. My family is Chinese so when it comes to “formal” family dinners, more often than not it will be Chinese cuisine. For dinner on Monday we went to Casa Imperial for some Chinese fine-dining. From the outside it does not look like a Chinese restaurant at all, let alone a restaurant. The restaurant is housed in a historic Victorian-Style house and the interior is a wonderful mix of european and asian decor. For years the building…

    Tall Ship Kajama

I’m headed home to NJ this morning from Toronto. I have an approximately 9 hour long drive ahead of me, but I’m really excited to get home to my own bed! On our last day in town yesterday, we went for a boat cruise on Lake Ontario from the Toronto Harbor on one of the Tall Ships — the Kajama to be exact. It’s pronounced with a “y” sound like in spanish, although I think it’s more fun to say it with a hard j rhyming it with pajama. The boat cruise takes you on a traditional 165 foot schooner around the harbor and onto Lake Ontario. While you enjoy…

    All About That Fringe

Hi all, just a short post for you today. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon walking around the harbor in Toronto. I did so, in this lace and fringe kimono. I’m on a total fringe kick which is perfect since it’s a big trend right now. Kimono: Aerie  Jeans: Wallflower via Kohls Tank Top: The Limited Sunglasses: Kate Spade I’m really enjoying this bohemian look this summer. It’s so carefree yet stylish, which has been really travel friendly for me! The rest of my day consisted of a lot of food and family. Today’s my last real day in Toronto before I head home tomorrow. I hope you all had a good…
