Parisian Designer Contest

Parisian Designer Contest
Last week Polyvore had a Parisian Designer Contest where you had to come up with a set to pay homage to a french designer of your choice. I chose Chanel, just because Coco Chanel and the brand in general is so iconic of french couture. Instead of putting together images of live photos and models wearing Chanel creations, I decided to go with sketches. I absolutely love looking at fashion sketches because you really get the feel for the designer’s vision. I think there is something so special about sketches.
Fun fact – when I was little and thinking of what I wanted to be when I grew up my parents asked me if I wanted to go into fashion and I said no. I only said no because I knew I had zero talent in drawing and I didn’t think I could actually make a career out of fashion without being able to draw. I don’t know how true that is in real life, but that was my thinking back then.
Maybe one day I’ll take a drawing class!
