Last Stop – San Diego & Flying Home
It’s back to work today after the long weekend, but I still have one last post for you from my weekend travels. Flying across the country just for the long weekend was tiring, but I had a great time seeing friends and celebrating the wedding/marriage of two good friends of mine. I don’t know how the celebrities fly all around the world all the time and sometimes just for a day! So before I headed home yesterday, I spent the day, Sunday, in San Diego which was a little over an hour drive from where I was staying.
We spent a majority of the day at Seaport Village where there are lots of shops and places to eat as you walk along the water.
After walking around, relaxing and eating some lunch and ice cream, we decided to fly some kites in the little park area where a bunch of other people were also flying kites. It was pretty entertaining as none of us have flown kites in years. We may or may not have gotten a kite stuck in a tree. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, then you already know the answer to that!
That’s me flying one of the kites! After all that kite flying, we got really hungry and after searching for parking for a good 20-25 minutes we finally got a delicious Mexican meal at La Puerta. Everyone enjoyed their food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is definitely lively. If you’re looking for a good Mexican place in that area, I highly recommend La Puerta, but if you are looking for a quiet place then this definitely isn’t the place for you!
I got the Cochinita which is listed under their Signature Street Tacos. The tacos, refried beans, rice and rajas con crema were so good.
By this time, we were all beat and bordering on food coma status. We had to drive back to Irvine and by the time I got back to my room, I was so tired. I packed my things and got ready for bed because I needed to be up at 4:40AM — yes, AM (!) to get ready to go to the airport and catch my 7AM flight home.
How fitting is this sweatshirt? I got it from H&M recently and when I bought it I immediately knew I had to bring it with me on this jam-packed weekend. It’s so comfortable and what I love is that the the words/design are not just printed on the material but are actually raised velvet.
My epic weekend concluded with my flight home which consisted of me, again not paying for a movie (see my post about my flight out to California here), listening to music, finishing Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (excited to review that soon!), napping, and eating my Subway sandwich I bought at the airport instead of purchasing a questionable meal on the plane.
So now I’m home and back at work. Let’s hope this week goes by fast so I can sleep in this weekend!

It was a fun day, but now I’m back home in NJ and felt like I was going to fall asleep at work today! And yes, the tacos were so yummy!
