Making Your Home as Hygienic as Possible

All of us do chores around the house to keep it clean and presentable. But we need to do a thorough deep clean once in a while to make sure it’s truly hygienic. There are all sorts of things you can do to achieve this, but for now, let’s focus on just a few areas to get the ball rolling in the right direction. Your home will be gleaming and a hygienic sanctuary in next to no time!

Deep Clean the Carpets
We tend to run the vacuum around the carpets on a regular basis – many of us will carry this chore out multiple times a week. But when you bear in mind just how much dirt carpets can harbour, it’s definitely worth considering a deep clean every once in a while. We walk on our carpets day in and day out. We bring dirt from the outdoors in. We spill things on it. Our pets run around on it after treading in just about anything outside. We shed hair on it. Your vacuum can pick up surface dirt, but you will need to hire a professional carpet cleaning machine or hire a professional carpet cleaner to give your carpets a proper shampoo. Not only will this make your carpets genuinely clean, but it’ll leave them looking new too!

Tackle Mold
Mold can be easy to ignore if it’s tucked away in a corner or in a room that we don’t often use. But it comes hand in hand with a genuine health concern. You don’t want to breathe spores of mold in and these can travel around the air in your home. If you identify mold, or believe there’s mold in your home, carry out Environix testing. This will determine whether you have a mold problem and, if so, exactly how serious it is. The professionals at Environix will then be able to guide you with the next best steps and remove the mold on your behalf.

Clean Your Mattress
Sure, we all change our bedding regularly. But when’s the last time you cleaned your actual mattress? Remember your mattress itself needs cleaning too! You can scrub your mattress with a non-toxic fabric cleaner or a specialist upholstery cleaner. If there are any odours that you’d like to remove, consider sprinkling a little bicarbonate of soda over the mattress, leaving it for a little while, and then vacuuming it up. Just remember to make sure your bedding is completely air dried before putting any bedding back on it!

These are just a few household chores you might want to add to your deep-clean list. Carrying them out occasionally will make your home a much more hygienic and sanitary place! You’ll feel more comfortable and, ultimately, everything you own will last longer, as it’s been cared for properly! You’ll thank yourself in the long run.
