Book Review: Doizemaster: Phantasm Creed
Last week I read Doizemaster: Phantasm Creed by Tony M. Quintana, which had been sent to be quite a while ago. Doizemaster: Phantasm Creed is a YA fantasy book that I found fun to read.

The main character in the novel is Dashiel Ermitage, an 18 year old who lives Azahar. Azahar has been separated from the rest of the world for a long time with a magical border that protects them from an evil emperor. When metal soldiers sent by the emperor start to infiltrate the magical border, Dashiel learns that he has some magical abilities. These abilities mean he can join the elite Cobalt Phantasms. This elite order consists of many men and women with abilities that try to protect and provide relief to people suffering under the tyrannical rule of the emperor.
Dashiel is extremely excited and honored to be recruited into the order, but he knows he will face danger and possibly be hurt. He’s not afraid to get hurt, but Dashiel has a secret. He has a disorder that would be made public if he bleeds and if people find out about his issue, he will be kicked out of the Phantasms.
Dashiel makes new friends and allies along the way in his training and trying to protect Azahar. I liked the book and thought it was fun to read about Dashiel and co’s adventures. I did think there were some confusing parts and I’m not sure if I just wasn’t reading close enough or if it was actually confusing. For example I know there’s an evil emperor, but then there was also a king and prince who are also not good and so I was a little confused about that. So I think the different characters and what role they play exactly weren’t very clear. Only for the bad guys though – I pretty much understood who all the good people were.
There’s also a little bit of a cliffhanger ending, but I haven’t heard about a sequel, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
Overall, I did like the book and it was a fun YA fantasy read.
