Book Review: Glow

I finished the fourth book in the Plated Prisoner series, Glow, by Raven Kennedy last night and I am not okay! I was an emotional wreck and am still not over the ending. I don’t know how I’m going to wait til June for the fifth and final book! I have a list of things I want to see happen in the book and I hope it’s a happy ending for all the people who deserve one.

Glow picks up right where Gleam left off – Slade had to rot Auren because she couldn’t control her gold and it was destroying all of Ranhold. He gets her to safety and Auren spends a lot of time with Slade and the Wrath healing, getting stronger, and learning how to control her magic. Just when things are starting to look promising for Auren and that her and Slade could have a chance at a happy life together in Fourth Kingdom, they learn that the other kingdoms are calling for Auren to stand trial. They believe she stole Midas’ power. Will they be able to prove her innocence? Will Slade, as king of Fourth, be able to protect her from the other monarchs?

The book was so good. I loved it so much. Auren and Slade are perfection. I love how Slade is Auren’s biggest champion and knows she is capable of so much, but is also fiercely protective of her. And if you thought Gleam was spicy, Glow is like four chili peppers! Slade just might be my top book boyfriend right now.

I don’t know how I’ll wait 8 months for the final book, but I’ve got so many books on my tbr that hopefully soon I’ll be able to move on from all the feelings I have for this book haha.

Also, how cute is my sweatshirt?! I saw this Plated Prisoner merch on Etsy and loved the cage with the script “Goldfinch” (Slade’s nickname for Auren). The sweatshirt comes in multiple colors, but I loved the green (my favorite color) with the white cage and gold bird.

Anyway, I’m off to read some other things I need to finish and try to not get emotionally distraught by the ending of Glow again.
