Book Review: Aunt Edwina’s Fabulous Wishes
Aunt Edwina’s Fabulous Wishes by Lynne Christensen is a lighthearted family mystery story and the first in a series.

The novel follows Julie Fincher, a painter. Her Aunt Edwina (really her grandmother but Edwina thought grandma sounded too old) is known as the Lady Edwina Greymore, a wealthy aristocrat. The day before Julie’s fancy wedding to a guy she’s been dating for a while but is less than thrilled to be marrying (and learns early on in the novel that he is only marrying her for the money and has a girlfriend on the side), Edwina passes away. Edwina, knowing that she would probably pass away soon due to poor health, left instructions for Julie and her cousin, Gertie, to follow clues and riddles she left behind for a family history treasure hunt. The two go on a road trip around southern England and meet new friends and eccentric people along the way as they try to figure out the clues Edwina left them.
This was a fun, whimsical read. I really liked Julie and Ewan, an antique dealer, new friend, and possible future love interest, that she meets along the way. It was a little lengthy for this type of book and I think it definitely could’ve been a little shorter, but I enjoyed reading it.
