Book Review: The Lost Sisters
I recently read The Cruel Prince by Holly Black and afterwards I randomly learned that there is a novella between books 1 and 2 in the series. I don’t even remember how I came across this info. I think I saw something on Instagram maybe? Anyway, I learned that there’s a novella called The Lost Sisters that is narrated by Taryn and she explains her side of the story and why she did what she did in The Cruel Prince.

The novella was a quick read at around 50 pages. It was interesting to see how everything went down with Locke and why Taryn did the things she did. But, it didn’t make me magically start to like her now that I know her side. I still don’t really care for her that much haha. But maybe as the series goes on I’ll start to like her!
Do you need to read this? No. And other people online had said that too. I even put a poll on my Instagram stories. The majority of people said it wasn’t necessary and it doesn’t add to the story, but I read it anyway because I also love bonus content. So overall, I liked learning Taryn’s point of view, but it didn’t change anything for me. I don’t regret reading it though!
