Book Review: Those Three Little Words

It’s finally Friday! This was one of those weird weeks that felt like it went by quick, but the days themselves were incredibly slow. Earlier in the week I finished the second book in the Vancouver Agitator series by Meghan Quinn, Those Three Little Words, and I really enjoyed it!

The novel follows Penny Lawes and Eli Hornsby. Penny is Pacey’s (from book 1) younger sister and she works for the Agitators running their social media. Eli is one of Pacey’s best friends and teammate. When Penny began working for the Agitators 2 years ago, Pacey – the overprotective brother – told everyone that his sister was off limits. That includes his best friend Eli, who is known to be a player. But Penny and Eli have secretly had crushes on each other these past 2 years. Fast forward to present day and Penny and Eli run into each other at a bar on Valentine’s Day which also happens to be Eli’s birthday. The two end up spending the evening together at the bar and end up back at Eli’s and with some liquid courage decide to give in and spend the night together. The two have an amazing time and really like each other, but know that Pacey will be furious so it can only be a one time thing. They’ll just be friends. That is until Penny finds out she’s pregnant!

Now the two are living together and planning out their co-parenting, but just as friends. Will they be able to remain friends and nothing more?

This was a really well done accidental pregnancy romcom and I loved Eli and Penny. Although, Penny did get on my nerves here and there in the book because she was acting really crazy at times, but overall I did like her and really enjoyed the book! After the initial hook-up it is a slow burn, but the tension and angst make it all worthwhile!

Read this if you want a spicy sports romance romcom with the accidental pregnancy, slow burn, and forced proximity tropes.
