Book Review: Christmas Cupid
This year for one of my Christmas in July reads, I read Christmas Cupid by Ilsa Madden-Mills. I have loved the other books I’ve read by her and had her christmas romcom on my tbr.

This romcom follows Iris Miller and Kyler Blanchette. Iris has been in a funk since her boyfriend broke up with her last Christmas. Her brother, Will, a famous pro hockey player, is determined to help her get back to her happy, upbeat self. Will convinces her to go up to the mountains where he has rented a cabin that he won’t be able to use anymore. Rather than let the cabin go to waste, he tells her to go up there with her dog and relax before Christmas. Little does she know that Kyler, her brother’s teammate, has also been offered the cabin by Will to relax while he contemplates what to do about an injury that could effect his career. So now both Iris and Kyler are at the one-bedroom cabin. And they get snowed in by a blizzard. It’s not exactly an enemies to lovers romance, but they both start out definitely not wanting the other there.
This was a really fun and quick holiday read. I loved Iris and Kyler and watching them both work through their personal issues and learn to trust each other. I thought the conflict that led to the 3rd act breakup wasn’t really necessary though – it seemed to come out of nowhere for no reason although the explanation makes sense it just didn’t seem like something that had to be blown up into a breakup, but it was a short-lived breakup so I’ll forgive it lol.
Read this if you want a spicy holiday romcom with the forced proximity trope.
