Book Review: The Ruthless Groom
I’m a fan of Monica Murphy’s Lancaster series so I had to read her spinoff series, Wedded Bliss, which follows Charlotte Lancaster in an arranged marriage with Perry Constantine. I recently read and loved the first book, The Reluctant Bride, and just read the second book in the trilogy – The Ruthless Groom.

This novel picks up right where The Reluctant Bride left off. Charlotte and Perry have finally acknowledged that they’re actually attracted to and intrigued by each other. After hooking up the night before their wedding, Charlotte sees her ex in the hotel cafe. Not only is he the older man/professor who broke her heart in Paris a year ago, but she learns that he’s actually part of the Morelli family. The Morellis are the rivals/enemies to the Constantines. As Charlotte and Perry begin their married life together starting with their honeymoon, they need to learn to navigate life together and see if they can trust each other. Can Charlotte trust that Perry can actually become interested in her and not just the connections and wealth the Lancaster money can bring to Perry’s family’s company? Can Perry trust that Charlotte isn’t actually working with the Morellis (i.e. her ex) to bring down his family?
The book is steamy and fully of tension – even more so than the first book. I love both Charlotte and Perry! I did feel like not a whole lot happened in this book which is surprising since there was the whole wedding and honeymoon and story thread of someone threatening the two of them with mysterious texts. I guess that’s typical of middle books in series where it’s a set up of what’s to come. I did still enjoy the book though. The book ends with a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see how it all ends!
Read this series if you want a spicy billionaire romance with the arranged marriage/marriage of convenience trope.
