Book Review: The Reluctant Bride
Last week I mentioned that I was starting The Reluctant Bride by Monica Murphy. It’s the first book in the Wedded Bliss series and I believe it’s part of a larger series with multiple authors about the feud between the Constantines and Morellis. The Reluctant Bride follows Charlotte Lancaster and Perry Constantine.

I’ve loved all the Lancaster books I’ve read and Charlotte and Perry are often referred to or have made cameos so I had to read their story. She’s Crew’s sister!
Charlotte and Perry are both from extremely wealthy families – the Lancasters and the Constantines. Charlotte has mostly kept to herself ever since she went to Paris a year ago to go to school and ended up with a broken heart. Perry is his mother’s favorite child because he’s the only one who always does what she wants. So even though he tries to push back when his mother tells him she has made a deal with Charlotte’s father and they are to be married, he ultimately gives in. Charlotte and Perry don’t know each other and since they’re both from wealthy, powerful families, they don’t know why their parents are so adamant that they join the families together.
When Charlotte and Perry meet they are instantly attracted to one another, but can they deal with being married to each other? Charlotte thinks Perry is a partier and playboy based on what she’s seen of him in the tabloids. Perry thinks Charlotte looks like a innocent goody goody who is boring. But as the two spend more time together during their engagement, they realize that the other has a lot more to offer than their first impressions.
I loved this book and Perry and Charlotte! It was actually a really fast read and I was hooked on it. I loved seeing Perry and Charlotte get to know one another and start to trust each other. The book ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to start the 2nd book soon!
Read this if you want a spicy billionaire romance with the arranged marriage trope.
