Book Review: The Auction
The Auction is my second ever Dramione fan fic and I really enjoyed it. The book is by Julie Soto (or lovebitsca8), and like Manacled, it is being reworked for traditional publishing so that it doesn’t break copyright infringement so I downloaded it back at the end of 2024 before it got taken down.

The novel takes place shortly after the Battle at Hogwarts. In this fan fic, Harry Potter died that day of the battle when he sacrificed himself in the Forbidden Forest. Many people, including Hermione, were captured after that and trafficked. Draco Malfoy is able to buy Hermione and from there begins Hermione’s story of living at Malfoy Manor and trying to find ways to rescue her friends and defeat Voldemort. The only reason she’s able to do any of these things is because she’s not a prisoner or sex slave to Draco, like a majority of the other Lots that were sold at The Auction. Draco bought her to save her and the Malfoys all are doing what they have to do to survive.
I really enjoyed this book and I absolutely loved the Malfoys. I loved Hermione in this book too, but she definitely was a bit too stubborn at times that got a little tiring. But I loved her and Malfoy and everything they went through together. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars on GoodReads is because it was a little too long in my opinion. It took me 2 weeks to read! But overall, I did really like the book and I can’t wait to see what the story will be like when it gets traditionally published.
