Book Review: Wrecked

Wrecked is the third book in the Dirty Air series by Lauren Asher and follows Jax and Elena.

We have met Jax in the previous books in the series as he’s a F1 driver for McCoy and good friends with the previous mmc’s in the series, Noah and Liam. We met Elena in the previous book, Collided, when she was helping Liam with his pr.

In Wrecked, Jax has been getting into trouble with his partying and mixing his alcohol with his anti-anxiety meds. Elena is a publicist and does pr for a few F1 drivers. She enjoys her job and she makes decent money but she needs to make some more if she wants to be able to afford to keep her ailing grandmother in the same facility she’s been living in. So when McCoy calls her and asks her to do the pr for Jax and fix up his image as well as stick with him all the time for the season to keep him out of trouble for a lot of money, she doesn’t hesitate. Will they be able to rehab Liam’s image? Will they be able to ignore their attraction to each other when they have to be together all the time?

I really enjoyed this book and the storyline. Despite having to fix his image, Jax was really likable. I also loved Elena and how resilient she was after everything she’s been through. The back and forth of whether they were going to get together or not went on a little too long in my opinion – it felt drawn out – but other than that I really liked the book and the characters. The ending was bittersweet, and while it was realistic, I wish it was 100% sweet. That’s just how I prefer my books! The extended epilogue was sweet though.

Just one more book to read in the series! I wonder which book will end up being my favorite.
