Book Review: Love Arranged

Last week I read the third and final book in the Lakefront Billionaires series by Lauren Asher, Love Arranged. This one was one I’ve been waiting for because it’s about Lily Muñoz, Dahlia’s sister, and Lorenzo Vittori!

Lorenzo has popped up in the previous books and he may have been mentioned in the last book of the Dreamland Billionaire series but I don’t remember for sure. Anyway, in this novel it begins a year prior when Lily and Lorenzo are unknowingly talking to each other on a dating app. When they finally meet, they realize each other’s identities, they stop talking. But, not for lack of interset on Lily’s part despite her family not being Lorenzo’s biggest fans. And Lorenzo likes Lily too, but he has a lot of issues from his past and his current OCD compulsions that make him believe Lily deserves better than him.

Fast forward a year and Lorenzo is running for mayor of Lake Wisteria. He wants to win because he thinks he’s the best candidate, but also because he has a personal vendetta against Trevor Ludlow, his opponent and the son of the current mayor. The problem is, he’s seen as an “outsider”. He lived in Lake Wisteria as a young boy, but after the death of his parents, he hasn’t been back until he moved back to town 2 years ago. So he is not as popular as the Ludlows who have run the town for years.

Meanwhile Lily’s flower shop is in jeopardy if Trevor wins because it is in the historic district and the Ludlows have been pressuring all the businesses there to sign NDAs and sell their businesses so they can develop the area.

Enter a fake dating scheme! If Lily and Lorenzo pretend to be a couple, Lorenzo will win points with the townspeople because Lily is the town sweetheart and if he wins, he will ensure her no one touches her shop. Will their fake dating reawaken their feelings for one another? Will their fake relationship turn real? And can their relationship help Lorenzo win the election?

I loved this book and Lorenzo and Lily! The vibes for this book were so good. Parts of the book made me laugh and some made my heart ache and those are always the best books. The slow burn in this book is so worth it and I loved the development of their relationship and everything they worked through individually and together.

I’m sad that this is the last book in the series, but the epilogue and bonus epilogue were great wrap-ups.

Read this if you want a spicy billionaire romance with the fake dating trope.
