Escaping from Reality at the Bookstore

Well the first two weeks of 2026 have not been great as I’m sure many of you can agree. Books are always a way for me to escape from reality and visiting a bookstore, even if it’s a major bookstore like Barnes & Noble and not an independent bookstore is an even better escape from reality. Last weekend I met up with friends at Barnes & Noble. We browsed all the shelves as we like to do and give each other recommendations. I only had two books in mind to buy that I’ve only heard stellar things about that I haven’t already bought. I searched for them for a while only to eventually find them back at the front! The Wedding People and The Correspondent. I’ve only had amazing things about both books and I saw both top a lot of people’s 2025 lists. So I’m excited to eventually get to those this year.

We caught up for a bit more over coffee and snacks before I went home and took a photo of my haul which included an adorable heart pouch. The Valentine’s table was really cute!
