Book Review: Holding on to Chaos
Happy Friday! I have a busy weekend ahead, but it’s all fun things so I’m excited. But before all the fun I have to get through work today first.
Anyway, today I’m sharing my thoughts on Holding on to Chaos, the 5th book in the Blue Moon series by Lucy Score. Book 4, Not Part of the Plan, wasn’t my favorite of the series, but this book has brought me back to loving the series.

This novel follows Eva Merrill and Donovan Cardona. Eva is the youngest sister to Gia and Emma and Donovan is a native Blue Mooner and the town sheriff. The two have had secret crushes on each other ever since they first met the year before at one of the Pierce weddings. Now that Eva is living in Blue Moon it’s only a matter of time before one of them finally makes the first move.
Donovan is ready to settle down and start a family with someone and he believes Eva is the one for him. Eva had a tumultuous upbringing after her mother left when she was little and her father, Franklin, raised the 3 girls on his own. The scars she still has from her mother leaving has Eva believing she isn’t worth sticking around for. She doesn’t know why Donovan would want to be with her or start a life with her. Eva also has two secrets she’s not ready to have come to light – one has to do with her mother and the other has to do with her career. Everyone thinks she’s a technical writer, writing things like instruction manuals, but she’s actually a romance writer! And what better inspo for her next book than the hot small town sheriff who acts like all the best mmc’s in her favorite romances? Will Eva let Donovan in and believe that she’s deserving of love? Will Donovan be able to get through Eva’s walls and get her secrets out of her?
I loved this book. Eva and Donovan were so fun and I enjoyed their story. The chemistry between them was so good and I loved that Donovan knew what he wanted and did everything to make sure Eva understood she deserved the world. I couldn’t put this book down and it definitely was up there with all the Pierce brothers’ stories.
