Book Review: The Tempest Blade
The Bridge Kingdom series by Danielle L. Jensen is over, which makes me sad, but the last book – The Tempest Blade – was an amazing end to the series.

I don’t want to give away too much about this book because a lot happens in it. Basically, the novel picks up shortly after the end of The Twisted Throne. James is going after Ahnna because he believes she killed his father, the King of Harendell and attacked his stepmother, Queen Alexandra. But, Ahnna was framed by the evil Alexandra and is now on the run trying to get back to her home kingdom, Ithicana, where her twin brother Aren is the king. She must warn them of the betrayals and traitors before her family and kingdom are attacked. It’s not a spoiler to say that eventually James realizes Ahnna’s innocence during his pursuit of her, but the two will have a huge journey and battle ahead to stop Harendell and other kingdoms who have been either manipulated or have secretly been working with Harendell to attack Ithicana and take over the Bridge.
This is the 2nd book that focuses on Ahnna and James, but it is also a big wrap-up for the series so we also get some POV chapters for Aren, Lara, Zarrah, and Keris, which I loved. They all were pivotal in the story and trying to bring down Alexandra and save Ithicana. The book actually gave me anxiety because so much was happening and every time a character would learn something or uncover some secret that the others needed to know about it was like, how long is it going to take for message to get to the across the seas?!
I won’t lie, this book was long. I think close to 800 pages. But at the same time I loved every minute with these characters that I’ve fallen in love with over the course of 6 books. It was epic and full of love and heartbreak and happiness. It was a great ending to an excellent series. I will miss these characters!
