Romantasy Event @ Barnes & Noble
It’s my birthday today! And what better way to kick off my birthday weekend this past Friday night than a Romantasy event at my local Barnes & Noble. A fellow bookstagrammer I recently connected with (Michelle at @currentlyreadingera) is a bookseller at that B&N and posted about how she was organizing a Romantasy event at the store. I rsvp’d for the event for me and 3 of my friends immediately!
The event was so cute and a good time. I wore a black, backless maxi for that dark romantasy look and I brought my flower crown along with me in case I decided to wear it at the event. Michelle had on elf ears! There was a poll for favorite tropes with pretty blue gems, a Shadow Daddy coloring station, a fantasy map section, potion making, and local authors doing signings including Morgan Elizabeth! I told her I’ve read a bunch of her books, but all on my Kindle so I didn’t have anything for her to sign so I bought Maneater from her since it was on my tbr and I wanted her to sign it. The map making was fun, but I really could not think of many things to fill my map with so it was a lot of mountains and trees. As one of my friends put it, “this is too much creative freedom” haha. To make the maps, we dropped coffee beans on the papers and traced around the beans to make the lands and islands etc.
I left about 20-30 minutes early and missed the author Q&A and a surprise video which apparently was a recorded message from Scarlett St. Clair! I don’t mind missing the Q&A so much, but ugh I love Scarlett St. Clair! But that’s ok, I still had a great time.
Also, it took me about 3 minutes to decide to buy that ACOTAR themed ceramic holder which I plan to put some bookmarks, tabs, and pens in!
