Book Review: Into the Blue
This summer I saw people raving about Into the Blue by Emma Brodie nonstop. I finally read it this past week!

The novel follows AJ Graves and Noah Drew over the years. The novel begins when AJ is a teenager working at her local video rental store in Massachusetts. Noah works with her at the store. He is a few years older than her and comes from acting/Hollywood royalty. They quickly become friends after their mutual love for a old sci-fi show called Astronauticals. That first summer changes their lives. Noah’s aunt, Eudora, who starred in Astronauticals, is a retired film actress who keeps to herself these days in her mansion. She meets AJ and demands that Noah and AJ come to the house every day to work with her. She leads them through acting exercises every day that summer and before long AJ and Noah can practically communicate with each other without speaking. The two begin to fall for each other that summer but right before the summer ends, Noah leaves town and AJ can’t find him or get ahold of him.
Fast forward years later, AJ is a tv writer/producer and Noah, whom she hasn’t seen since she was a teenager, is a famous actor. They haven’t seen each other since that summer years ago, but when they’re both tapped to be part of a unscripted/improv based show that’s based off of Astornauticals they will have to see each other and work together. Can the two work together after everything? Do they still have feelings for one another after so many years?
I really enjoyed this book and the epic love story between AJ and Noah. Their love is so deep and meant to be that it transcends years and circumstance. As sweeping as their love is, there are also really sad parts to their love and to the novel and I personally struggle with books that have that underlying sadness to them because I just want happy endings! This book does have a happy ending, but it’s sort of bittersweet so make of that what you will!
Read this if you want a sweeping romance that takes place over years with the second chance romance and friends to lovers tropes.
