Outlander in Concert
I have written about my love for the show Outlander over the years. The show ended earlier this year and I haven’t started watching the prequel spin-off yet. But, I did go to Outlander in Concert last week! The concert was at the Count Basie Theater about 45 minutes away from me in Red Bank.
My friend and I left work early. I grabbed a Dunkin iced coffee so I wouldn’t fall asleep at the show, then went home to freshen up and get changed into my outfit for dinner and the show. Of course I had to wear a plaid skirt. It was funny because when we were walking from the restaurant to the theater we were wondering aloud if we were going in the right direction, but then we saw a bunch of other people wearing plaid and tartan and joked “just follow the plaid!”.
When we got to Red Bank, we went to Crazy Story Books. The shop was so cute and I loved how spacious it was. A lot of indie book shops are small and sometimes cramped, but this was such a nice and cute space. I did pick up 2 books! Then, we went to a few more shops to pass some more time before our dinner reservation.
The restaurant we were getting dinner at was on the Navesink River so we took a few photos on the gorgeous day of the river and then had dinner. Dinner at 26 West on the Navesink was delicious. We shared the drunken clams for an app and for my entree I got a pappardelle and zucchini ribbon dish with snow crab and lump crab in a lemon butter sauce. Everything was so good!
We finished dinner just in time to walk over to the theater and settle in to our seats before the show. The orchestra played iconic music from the show with clips of the show playing on the screen. It was a great time!
