Book Review: Catch Her If You Can
I just finished Tessa Baily’s Catch Her If You Can – her latest book in her Big Shots sports romance series.

The novel follows Eve Mitchell and Madden Donahue. If you read Pitcher Perfect you may remember Eve and Madden. Eve is Skylar’s best friend since childhood and Madden is Skylar’s stepbrother’s best friend since high school whom she had a crush on for years. Eve and Madden have had feelings for each other since they first met when Eve was 14, but never told each other or did anything about it. This is mostly due to Skylar’s big crush on Madden over the years. But now, Skylar is in love with Robbie and has moved on from her crush. Add to that that Eve has taken over her dad’s strip club and has tried to turn it into a classier burlesque club but business is not going great and her 5 year old twin niece and nephew are now under her care while her sister goes to rehab. These are all reasons that Eve agrees to Madden’s idea for the two of them to get married! Eve’s niece and nephew need health insurance and marrying Madden will help take care of them. But Eve wants this to be only for 6 months while she gets things together, because she doesn’t want to bring Madden down with her reputation. Eve grew up with many people in town being mean to her and her sister because her dad owned a strip club, and things have not gotten better as she became an adult. Now that Madden has been called up to be the catcher for the Yankees, the last thing Eve wants is to negatively effect the public’s opinion of him hence her 6 month idea. Madden is determined to have things last forever. Can they pull it off this marriage of convenience? Will they keep the 6 month deal?
I liked this book and the storyline. I really liked Eve and Madden for the most part, but some of their decision making was questionable and not the best haha. Nonetheless it was a cute romcom and the yearning and spice was top tier!
Read this if you want a sports romcom with the friends to lovers and marriage of convenience tropes.
