    Christmas Decor

So even though I’m not in my condo full-time yet I have decorated it for Christmas. I would probably do a little bit more if renovations weren’t still getting finished up, but I think it’s actually pretty festive considering I’m not in there fully yet. I wrote about myBalsam Hill tree last week, which I am excited about and adore. Now let’s talk about the other holiday decor I have out. Most of the items are things I either bought last year or have had for a long time. First, my garland. I bought this garland and matching wreath from Target last year. Last year I had it on my…

    Christmas Mantel Inspo

Besides looking at food posts on Pinterest, I love looking at home decor and interior design. I especially love looking at holiday decor inspo. In the past I’ve shared a few tablescape inspiration posts for Thanksgiving and Christmas, dream kitchen and walk-closet goals, and more. Today I’m sharing a few, 8 to be exact, Christmas mantels I came across on Pinterest that looked stunning in my opinion. Here are 8 of my favorite Pinterest finds! Which one is your favorite? I can’t pick one! I think it’s safe to say that besides pops of red and green in the ornament ones I like a very traditional, classic look with greenery,…

Mini Christmas Tree + Mini Vintage Ornaments

When you get a mini Christmas tree you need mini ornaments right? Okay well I guess you don’t need them, but it’s always fun to decorate. I have two mini trees in my place this year. One is new and one is old. The one I’ve had for years is currently in my family room and if you’ve been following me for a while or at least for more than 1 Christmas season then you’ve seen it before. I didn’t decorate that one – it has berries and pinecones on it and I decided to leave it without additional decorations. I have a few photos of that one which I’ll include…

    More Christmas Decor

Happy Wednesday! We’ve made it halfway through the week. I have just 7 more days of work (including today) before winter break! I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner. I’ve already shared with you all my Christmas tree this year and my garland on my stairs. Today I’m sharing some more Christmas decor I’ve got going on in here. My fireplace mantel, my buffet table, and my outdoor wreath. First, my fireplace. I got garland for my mantel and a wreath to put over it from Target. They didn’t come together, but they’re the same brand so they match. I thought about putting some of my LED lights…

    Christmas Garland

I’ve always wanted garland with lights around my house so when I moved in to my townhouse and had a good amount of visible bannister I knew I had the perfect opportunity. The lighted garland that I saw at Costco required an outlet so that didn’t work for me, but I found strings of tiny LED lights in the same aisle that are battery operated. So I decided to get that and then buy regular garland and combine the two. Then, I went to Michael’s and guys, garland is expensive! Originally I wanted the kind of garland that looks like real fir or pine or whatever you call it, but…

    Ceramic Vintage Christmas Tree

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love all the decorations, music, and cheeriness of the season. Not often am I thinking about the holiday season in August, though! However, back in August I saw an event on Facebook for vintage Christmas trees at a ceramic studio nearby. The first date for the event was already sold out, so I acted quick (even though it was August) and reserved spots for me and a friend for October. I’m so glad we decided to go because the process was fun and the result was so pretty! I love the look of these old-school, vintage Christmas trees. They’re always advertised as…

Red, Green, & Gold Christmas Tree

This year with my new townhouse I got a new Christmas tree from Costco. A pre-lit one, which is new to me. I have to say it was so much easier to not have to string the lights! The tree I got is 7 ft. tall and the lights can be white, colored, or alternate – which is the setting I normally have it on since I love both white and colored lights. The small lights are classic and clean, but part of me still misses those large old school bulbs! For my tree this year, I inadvertently got an assortment of red, green, and gold ornaments. When I went…

    Photo Challenge: Transformation

For last week’s photo challenge, “Transformation“, I took the easy way out since Christmas decorating commenced promptly after Thanksgiving last week. There are so many things to choose from to fit the “Transformation” challenge. Bare Christmas trees turned into beautiful, glittering trees. Plain front doors bedecked with festive wreaths. Garland and/or lights covering banisters and railings. The list goes on. For the past two years I’ve been putting ornaments in a large vase. I wrote about it in a past post (here). Large vases are gorgeous with fresh flowers (and you all know I’m a huge fan of flowers), but they are just as beautiful during the holidays filled to…

    Mannequin Christmas Trees

I’m not sure how long Mannequin Christmas Trees have been a thing but I first noticed them last year. I saw pictures of them online last year and thought they looked so cool and beautiful. Then, I found out that as part of the White House Christmas decorations they had a room full of Mannequin Christmas Trees last year! This year, I’ve been seeing them online again as well as in some stores and window displays. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Mannequin Christmas Trees are mannequins, more specifically dress forms, that are dressed in Christmas tree branches and trimmings and decorated in all different ways. I’ve seen ribbon,…
